Customer Review: Keep an eye out on the mouth

So my 11 month old daughter loves this toy and she has been playing with it for months. Today however I had a frightening experience. She was playing in her play yard and I started hearing a different sort of whining, whimpering than I ever had from her. When I went to see what was going on, she had the fish tail completely in her mouth and behind her teeth. She has four teeth on both the top and bottom, and she could not get it out of her mouth. Luckily she wasn't panicking and I was able to get it out, but she was definitely scared by the experience. I will still let her play with it, but only when I am right next to her. Although the tail is not of choking hazard size, it can get stuck in their mouth if they try hard enough. Just be careful if your baby likes to stuff things in their mouth as far as they can, which mine apparently does. I also took a couple of smaller stacking cups that have a rim around the top which I could imagine a similar thing happening with and put them in the "under supervision only" bag.Customer Review: Great toy for quiet time

This toy is so cute, I almost bought it for myself rather than my son. But it is a great toy for him as well. It is a little more challenging than some of his other toys. It teaches him how to grasp things with two hands and manipulate things into his mouth. He likes it most when he is getting a little tired and is sitting in my lap, needing something quiet to do. I also like that it's made of wood, not plastic, and is something we'll keep even after he outgrows it.
My son didn't get interested in this until he was about 4-5 months old. This toy is probably a little too much for younger babies.

I bought this for my 7 month-old for Christmas. It's a little toy, but still kind of awkward for her to hold, as she is very petite and tiny. She doesn't have a lot of patience with it, because it's difficult for her to maneuver and she usually throws it down after a few seconds of playing with it. I think it will be more fun for her when she gets a little bit bigger and more coordinated.
I think it's great fun and very attractive...maybe the problem here is that I play with it too much! (It makes such a cool clacking noise when you swing it around.)

This toy is even more adorable than pictured. I actually thought it would be too big for my baby but its much smaller than I thought. Perfect for a baby 6 months and up. This is not as good a teether as it is just a clutching toy. This toy stands on its tail also. My little nephew was so eager to get to this toy on top of our coffee table he pulled up for the first time just to get to this. Bright brilliant colors and solid made-to-last contruction. Reminds me of a time when toys were actually made to last.Customer Review: good for tiny hands to learn to clutch

This is a very sweet rattle for little hands to learn how to clutch and shake back and forth. However, it's not really a noisemaker in that our baby had trouble getting it to "clack" when she waved it back and forth (her strength being less than mine!). But she liked the colors, and putting the tail in her mouth when teething, and liked to grab on to it and wave it around above her head. Some of the other Haba rattles in rings were probably better gifts if you are only in the market to buy one.
