Toys and Games Reviews of Haba Kringelring Clutching ToyCustomer Review: Son's favorite infant toy. Used much younger than 6 months! Summary: 5 Stars
This was the first toy I bought my son. We gave it to him as soon as he started showing the ability to grasp. This toy was used as a grasping toy and a rattle. When the infant is so young, he likes to just look at his hand holding something and he looks at the colors and notices that the blue rings move around. It makes a nice sound when it is shaken. It's not too heavy and it is easy to hold.
I know it sounds boring, but my son loved this ring!
I would recommend getting one for a newborn and just waiting until they start showing signs of reaching out for things and trying to touch or grab things.
The product description recommends for 6 months to 2 years. I would say 1 month to 1 year.
The toy is very well made. Those colored bits are all strung together with an elastic cord so the colored part of the ring is pliable and bends.
My son did eventually mouth and gnaw on the ring when he was older. It's a great toy and would also make a nice gift.
Customer Review: Great for small babies but watch out for toddlers... Summary: 4 Stars
I purchased this for my 3 month old son and it is great for him, although he's too young to use it for teething he loves the sound the loose rings make while I shake it and he is fascinated by the colors. We'll play with this for at least 30 minutes. The problem is my 3 year old thought she'd use it for teething and with one bite dented in the wood significantly (I got it away from her before she could splinter the wood). There is also a possibility of the baby pinching his fingers in it as the colored wood parts do pull apart and I can't help but wonder just how strong the string holding them together is. The colored pieces of wood are movable and can be twisted into shapes which really interests my son- this does pose a bigger problem of being pinched but so far it hasn't been a problem yet.
While is is beautiful and clearly a much better option than plastic it's not the perfect teether in my opinion.
Customer Review: Love the rattle sound - wish it entertained longer Summary: 3 Stars
This was the first toy that my baby was able to hold. It is light and small (maybe three inches across, about the size of a bracelet), perfect for two month old hands. I put it in her hand, and she was able to shake it. The toy is easy to stick in my diaper bag. What I love about the toy is the nice, soft rattle sound. It's really pleasant and not annoying like other toys. When the baby started teething, she enjoyed putting it in her mouth, and I was glad it is made of wood and safe dyes.
I only wish she played with it more. Although she always takes it from me when I offer it, the ring doesn't hold her attention for long. For the price and the two minutes she will look at this toy, I'm not sure it is worth buying. The only portable toy that has ever been able to keep her attention is chewing on the rubber Sophie giraffe.
Customer Review: Daughter LOVES this toy! Summary: 5 Stars
My daughter is 5 months old and she LOVES this toy. She reaches for it and gets excited when I bring it out! It's funny because she's had lots of toys given or handed down to her - toys that have flashing lights, music, squeak, etc, but this one is her absolute favorite and we never leave home without it. She's a little small to teeth on it yet (she tries, though!), but she passes it from hand to hand and loves to rattle the smaller rings. She also stares at the colors, turns the ring around, grabs at the smaller rings - all this is really good for her motor skills development! It feels great to know that such a simple toy can bring so much enjoyment to my child and also awesome that it's non-toxic, so she can chew it all she wants. This is a great company!
Customer Review: Quality toy but my son doesn't like it Summary: 3 Stars
I was really anxious to purchase this toy since it had so many good reviews. It looks really appealing, very colorful and basic but fun. However my son has had it for 2 months and has shown minimal interest in it. He'll hold it for a max of 10 seconds before either throwing it or just dropping it to grab something else, even from the first time he saw it. I purchased it mainly for teething purposes and thought it would also be a good rattle that wouldn't drive me crazy with a loud jingle. I think this might work well as a teether for babies who prefer a hard surface to chew on. I will say that it is very well-made, a smooth, nicely finished wood with natural-looking but bright paint. This toy would last through multiple children.
