I was so excited to receive the half dozen eggs by Haba. I knew from research that Haba food replicas tend to venture on the small size, in essence this makes perfect sense given that they are meant for little hands. The eggs themselves are beautifully crafted and the box is as a standard egg carton would be, a heavier set paper. Adorable, as it lends to the authenticity of play. All this I was expecting, however, I have read other reviews and parents were "shocked" by the size and feared the hazards of choking and so I suppose this is the reason that Haba now places an irremovable choking hazard label that covers 1/4 the top of the box along with a label stating met standards. This completely ruins the effect. Essentially I have paid $10 plus tax for a bit of paper and a couple of pieces of wood, is it so much to ask that they come as displayed? So I say this, if one is such an inattentive parent that small devices could so easily escape your notice that you give them to your child to play with anyway, I would suggest that no size of labelling will help you. And to Haba to appease those ever so label conscious could the hazardous label and the one stating the standards your product meets not have been placed on the inside cover thus not ruining the effect? I love this toy and would reccomend it and other products by Haba and as always Amazon was prompt and efficient. My only hope is that people would start to use some common sense so that all of these incessent warnings and hand holding becomes unnecessary.
