I read the other reviews but got this fairy wand anyway because my daughter's 1st b-day party is abby cadabby. I chose this one over the ribbon top wand because my daughter still loves chewing on things. I love this wand and it is everything you expect. It definitely makes noise and the sensors are hyper-sensitive. There was a tab that had to be pulled out to activate it though. I wonder if the other reviewer's tab was missing. My only regret is how reactive it is, we have to place it on cushions so that vibrations don't trigger the noise. But my daughter loves it!! Definitely get this for a younger child, the ribbon wand is better for 3+.
