I really wanted the white and blue 1st Amazon bear...but was too late to get one :( This one was offered as a promotional item, but is nice enough that it is even worth buying! He is very soft and squishy! Just what you want in a bear! I was worried that his hat would have the ears attached to it, but (nicely) the hat has little holes so his ears poke through. The hat is tacked on in 4 spots, but I am going to leave mine on. He is sturdy enough that he can sit upright without support. Plastic eyes, different color fur foot pads and mouth, and a velvety nose. I measured about 16 inches lying flat on the table (not pulling his legs taut.)He has the cutest little happy face. This was a free bonus when I ordered some toys a few days ago. I expected to be able to use it to give as a gift, either to a child in our family or to a Toys for Tots sort of organization. I expected that with the name "Gund" it would be decent quality. The fur feels like slick and cheap - like one of those stuffed animals from an arcade machine or dollar store, AND -- there are a few seams that are not sewn well so the stuffing was hanging out when the bear arrived. I will have to sew the seams if I want to donate it and will still be embarrassed to give a gift of that poor quality. Disappointment.Customer Review: Looks high quality to me

We got 2 of these for free with a Big A special. I am not a Gund connoisseur by any means, but these bears are extra soft, appear well made, and are extremely cute. There were no visible defects. All was in good order. For a freebie, you cannot go wrong. Not sure I would spend $30 for one, but as a throw in special it was great. For the few customers who complained about the quality, just return them as the Big A has a fantastic return policy. Maybe they got "lemons"; It happens, but the Big A always stands by their products. I am sure the replacements would be like the ones I got....perfect. HO!HO!HO!Customer Review: assembly nightmare

A wonderful, eagerly anticipated item for young girls becomes an assembly nightmare. The pieces are cheap, very fragile, with holes that do not match and hardware of the incorrect sizes. Had to have a professional carpenter assemble the little seat because of incorrectly drilled holes and wrong size hardware. Bright pink paint is chipped and the mirrors are oddly not clear. Glad this was a freebie because it is very cheaply made. I intended to donate this to Toys For Tots, but the bear I received arrived with a large 2 inch section on its side that was not sewn up and the stuffing was hanging out! I'm sure it can be repaired/fixed, but I wouldn't want to donate something like this that is obviously so cheap. :(
