This Sand Play Set from Green toys is definitely a Diamond in the Rough. It is nothing like the cheap plastic sets that will bend and disappoint. It is made from strong recycled plastic, that is BPA free, and is tough and sturdy for child's play. We bought two one for each of our toddlers and they love them. It is recommended for children ages 3 and above but our 2 year old plays with it just fine (just watch younger children who may poke eyes with the rake, or want to put it in their mouths - though its safe).
PROS
1. Eco friendly and safe for young children and is made in the USA.
2. The beach bucket has a strong rope handle, (so no bending or breaking away from the bucket like plastic ones do)
3. Durable and quite stylish
CONS
1. Pricey (but you can save a few bucks by buying it here on Amazon, which is much cheaper than other retailers and toy stores).
OVERALL
Worth every penny and will last a lifetime.

These sand toys far exceeded my expectations. They are durable. Definitely nothing like the sand toys I'm used to seeing. They are sturdy. The handle on the bucket has a thick rope. The sand castle mold and 2 utensils fit inside the bucket for easy carrying. I love, love, love that they are made from recycled milk jugs and that they contain no lead, no phthlates, and no BPA. I plan on giving this as a gift to several people. Oh, and the colors don't quite look like the picture. The toys are definitely brighter in person. The colors shown with the girl playing in the sand are pretty accurate. I think that $14 is a decent price. Sure, you don't get a ton of sand toys, but the health benefits and durability of this set allow me to look past the price.Customer Review: Quality & Unbreakable!

This is a fantastic sand play kit! The Green Toy range is absolutley first rate and environmentally friendly to boot. We now have a few of there pieces this being our latest purchase. It is sturdy, functional and lovely to look at. Our little boy just loves the rope handle. The shovel and rake are well made and feel really substantial. Most beach/sand sets are made from very flimsy promary coloured plastics. We have also purchased the Geen Toys tug boat & Tea set. (If you're in the market for a really great working play Tea set you can't go passed the Green Toy one. My son and I actually put tea in the pot (cooled down tea obviously) and have "proper tea parties.")Customer Review: Not your average "plastic" sand toys

What an amazing set!!! The colors are beautifully muted, which is a nice change from the classic primary bright colors. The bucket is a very nice size with a thick, sturdy, white cotton rope. The shovel and rake are very sturdy and a pretty nice size. I love the muted blue castle form, which is quite large and will help in making great big sandcastles. I truly recommend this product it's 100% recycled milk jugs and it's made in the USA. It's a great product if you're trying to stay green and local. This company also makes a tea set, dishes and trucks for children, all green products.Customer Review: great toy!

nice eco set. I don't buy "las vegas" toys for my son - toys that basically play with themselves are not useful for spontaneous, creative play & are pretty annoying with all the buttons & lights & noises. I'd rather supply him with things that engage his own creativity & this is definitely one of those. Its too cold for him to use them in the yard, but he enjoys scooping things with the shovel & using them to make music :) Colors are nice & subdued. They're thick enough that I expect them to handle the wear & tear of gardening when it turns to spring.
