I purchased this for my son for his 11th birthday. I was less than impressed when it arrived. I guess you don't get much for 30 bucks......All this toy is....is a stuffed doll with a string attached the the back of it's head. His clothes don't stay on (I finally pinned the pants to the shirt). His eyes are supposed to glow in the dark....but they don't. My son complained that he couldn't pull the string (to move the mouth) and hold the doll without having to put it in a head lock. I tried it and I couldn't pull the string without having to grab the doll by the head. This makes it pretty hard to play with it the way you would think you would with a Ventriloquist doll.Customer Review: Slappy is now happy!

I purchased Slappy for my 8-year-old grandson. He is a big Goosebumps fan and he absolutely loves it. He'll be using it at Halloween along with his own Slappy costume. He plays with it constantly. The glow-in-the-dark eyes adds to the fun. However here's a suggestion: I sewed buttons on the front and back of the pants top then cut small slits in two strips of black elastic and buttoned them on (crisscrossing them in front and back), thereby making suspenders to keep Slappy's pants from falling down. I also used a large needle and laced the shoestrings (could use yarn) through the feet to keep the shoes on. My grandson couldn't be happier.Customer Review: gave me goosebumps!

Santa brought this for my 7 year old (fan of the Goosebumps series) and he has been very happy with it more as just a collectible toy than as a ventriloquists tool. It is a bit difficult to use as there is no way to support the dummy and there is only a string that opens his mouth. (I was used to the kind with an opening in the back with a trigger that controlled the mouth). But the quality is good despite the expensive price tag. I thought this was a great idea I am the biggest fan of night of the living dummy. At school I draw pictures and everything till I found this I does not look like the dummy in the movie. But its awsome it looks like the dummy on the cover of night of the living dummy.
