Toys and Games Reviews of Girl Gourmet Deluxe Cupcake Maker Deluxe SetCustomer Review: Horrible! Do not buy this junk! Summary: 1 Stars
This product is shockingly bad. I truly believe the manufacturer should be sued for misleading and false advertising. The pictures of cupcakes on the box could not possibly be made with this set. THey are twice as large, and they were frosted beautifully and generously with a star tip, which is not even in this set. The amount of dough/frosting in the packets are enough for ONE MINI CUPCAKE each, and by the time you have tried to force the frosting in the tube (Think replacing toothpaste into the tube), and watch your child push the lever one time to squeeze it back out on to the cupcake, you have really ceased having any fun. I'm going to be demanding a refund - it really is that ridiculous. If i could give it 0 stars, i would.
Customer Review: The gift that keeps on giving grief... Summary: 1 Stars
My daughter received this as a gift, and initially we were delighted. The design is adorable, and it comes with everything you need, right down to the cupcake wrappers. Let me tell you, there is nothing worse than a disappointed child's face, especially on her birthday. The cupcakes look gross, and the icing is digusting. It defeats the point of having a fancy icing dispenser if the icing runs out all liquidy, goopy, and gross. It was a HUGE disappointment. I feel bad for the mother who spent the money on it. The only thing I can think of that would fix the problem would be to put real frosting in the icing dispenser. That may be the only thing that works. Otherwise, DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!!
Customer Review: Just say "no" Summary: 1 Stars
You know how you look at a toy that your 6 year old is raving over after seeing the commercial and you think to yourself...this can't possibly work! Well...go with your first instinct...this one doesn't work! The amount of water that you are advised to use is way off...then getting the frosting into the tube, in a consistancy that will work, leaks out before you can insert it where it goes...then it all comes out in one icky blob! What fun! NOT!
I'm not normally this negative and I've never written a review before...this one deserves it! If I can stop one person from purchasing this horrible toy...I've done well. Go buy an easy bake oven!
Customer Review: Don't Buy This Product! Summary: 1 Stars
I bought this for my 11 yr old daughter who loves to bake. She especially wanted this cupcake maker to make her cupcakes look fancy. The tv ads depict beautifully swirled frosting on the cupcakes. In reality this is not possible with this toy. While she had fun making the cupcakes and frosting, the whole point for her was to have pretty cupcakes. The frosting tube doesn't swirl the frosting. It just comes out in a blob in the center of the cupcake. She ended up having to spread the frosting with a knife. My daughter was highly disapointed that each mix only made one cupcake and that it looked terrible. We will take this toy back.
Customer Review: WOW! This toy is really bad! Summary: 1 Stars
Short and sweet. . . do not buy this toy! Santa brought it for my daughter because it was one of the top toys on her list. I don't know how this one slipped by the elves who are typically known for their fine craftsmanship, but the cupcake maker is complete junk; it doesn't work even a little. Fortunately, my daughter is only 3 and enjoyed "messing" with cupcake decorating even though her new toy failed to live up to our expectations. Save your money. Make your own cupcakes with your kids and decorate with real icing. It is a lot cheaper, tastes better, and is a whole lot more fun.
