Toys and Games Reviews of LCR Family Game (colors may vary)

Customer Review: Mindless Gambling, No Decisions, for Youngest Kids Only
Summary: 2 Stars

There are never any DECISIONS at all to be made in CLR (Center Left Right, null). CLR is 100% luck. CLR is merely an excuse to gamble. The game is therefore like Bunco, although slightly better.

Very young children can like this so-called "game".

Each of 3+ players starts with 3 pennies (or 3 $20 bills). You roll three CLR dice. The dice require you to pass some of your pennies left, some right, some to the center pot (to drain the game of money and produce a last-man-standing winner of the pot), or require you to leave your penny untouched in your cache.

The nicest thing about CLR is that you are Not out of the game when you lose your last penny, because either neighbor might roll and have to pass a penny to you.

Common 3x3 tic-tac-toe has infinite strategy compared to CLR.

Customer Review: Get creative! It can be fun for adults too!
Summary: 4 Stars

As part of a college-age church group, we always try to find ways to have fun. When a friend first brought this LCR game over, it became a huge hit. How is that possible with older folks?

It's simple. For teenagers, young adults or people that just like to mess around, you can turn it into an elimination game. Last person left with coins is the loser. You can all come up with a silly or nasty punishment (preferably BEFORE that game round), like drinking a nasty combination of sauces and food, or smashing your head on several grapes. Since the game honestly has no bearing on your skills but is based on PURE LUCK, it can make for an intensive game, as no one wants the punishment. Of course, it also has hilarious results at the end, depending on the nature of the punishment.

Get creative and have fun!

Customer Review: Quick fun and easy to learn
Summary: 5 Stars

We do not know what age group is really being targeted. However, it is a good game for a short period of time. It would be good as a mechanism to teach smaller children left and right, etc. concepts; sharing and eye hand coordination by tossing the dice. We have been playing this game with several card, domino, and bunco groups for the most part. It was suggested as a good way to bring an evening of, gaming, etc to a close on a fun note. It does just that. It is a dice game using letters to signify "left-right and center". That's it! The dice are easy to read; the instructions are simple; and any age can play. We do not recommend this to be played with small children due to the size of the dice...too easy to swallow.

Customer Review: The more the merrier!
Summary: 5 Stars

I love this game. It is so simple that our group had a disabled child that played, an 80 yr old, some 50+ folks, several in the 20-30's and even a teenager! There is no skill needed but if you have had a little wine you may need to stop and think about which way is left or right! I disagree that it is gambling because you don't actually wager - you just simply pass the money the direction the dice tells you to pass it (or keep it, or put it in the pot in the middle). You can play for items (chips, candy, etc) or money (pennies, dollars, etc) and the winner takes all!! The more people there are, the sillier it gets and the more everyone laughs:)Kids learn left/right and good sportsmanship.

Customer Review: Best 5 bucks ever spent
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased this for our 17 year old son and gave it to him at a large family Christmas party where the teens are always bored. They all played this and it was a great success. It is small and easy to take with you. It will be great for school overnight parties, etc...

Best [...] bucks ever spent.

The tube it comes in is a little flimsy but that is from the manufacturer. No big deal. I simply reinforced it with clear packing tape.

I wish I could say we had the same for all of our gifts given at Christmas. :) None of which were under $[...].
