Toys and Games Reviews of Gamewright Hisss Card GameCustomer Review: Fun game for grandsons Summary: 4 Stars
This game consists of matching colors to make a snake body, attach a head, and attach a tail. You can make a total of 7 snakes. This simple to play game is educational and fun. My grandsons - ages 3 and 6 - ask to play it every time they visit. They enjoy matching the colors to make the snake larger. The game also teaches critical thinking skills as partial snake bodies can be joined together to make a complete snake. It is simple enough for the 3 year old while still fun for the 6 year old.
Customer Review: great for speech therapy! Summary: 5 Stars
I use this game as a therapy tool for my students! It's great for working on final "s" and "sn". I make my students say "Hisssss" when they form a snake, but I also have them describe (in a complete sentence!) the picture they chose ("I chose a red and yellow snake's body"). It's also a great game for working on comparitives and superlatives "My snake is longer than your snake, but his snake is the longest!". Overall, a great game that can target many different goals at the same time!
Customer Review: A great first game Summary: 5 Stars
What I like about this game apart from the robust cards, and the simple rules mentioned in other reviews is that it is just a lot of fun for small children to put the snake cards together matching colours and making the biggest snakes they can.
In this respect it makes a wonderful matching toy for children at around or a little under three to play with on their own (as my own daughter did) and the rules can be introduced later as the child gets a little older.
Customer Review: Great for both kids AND adults! Summary: 5 Stars
We brought this for my son's 6th birthday among other higher ticket items and this is the one that's been played with the most! His mom and aunt & uncle (ages 38 - 52) played long after the kids went to bed and had a blast hissing and laughing! I think I will definitely buy a second set so we have more cards to add to the fun. This is one game you won't mind playing with the kids. Great game with easy rules, good for learning strategy and color matching.
Customer Review: Great game for preschoolers Summary: 5 Stars
I love this game because it doesn't involve any holding of card in a small hand, it can entertain my child for over an hour, it teaches colors (and counting, as you have to count your pieces at the end). I have purchased many card games and board games recently for my almost-4-year-old son and this is in the top 3 for sure. I do agree that I need an extra set of card to make the game last longer. Definitely play on the floor or on a large table.
