I ordered this for my 22month old daughter with some gift cards she received for christmas...She has the talking backpack, but was frustrated that she couldn't put it on like Dora (no straps)so I decided to give this a try, and she just loves it! perfect for a few toys, some snacks and such...the magnetic closure does seem a little flimsy,but that is easily solved by getting some iron on velcro. Overall, a nicely made bag for a toddler, even has a map attached to it...and it was even detachable, which was great cause my daughter was getting totally frustrated trying to pull it off the backpack :)Customer Review: EXCELLENT FUN FOR BOYS & 5 Stars
My 4 year old loves this back pack. Although it is soft plush, purple & looks like a girls toy; my 4 year old son loves it!! He gets the map out & checks out things on it. He took it to pre school the morning it arrived & showed it to the teachers, children & even the mums & dad's as they were taking the children home after pre school! He was so excited to get it; all the way from America!! We live "down under" & NO stores in Australia sell Dora products :( I wish Amazon would post to me in Adelaide; but I have to ship to a friend in the US & then she mails Dora items on to me. Its actually a soft, plush material. It uses a magnet for a latch and has one main compartment and two side pockets, one is used for a pretty nicely done map that's permanently attached to the backpack by a string. everything seems well made.By itself, its not really an educational toy, but our two year old really pays attention when she's watching the show and "reading" the books. Thanks to the packpack, she feels like every trip is a Dora adventure. She's always finding a "troll" bridge or "stone tower". I think she's paying more attention to her surroundings because of the series.

I got this backpack for my almost 3 year old daughter earlier this year when she first discovered Dora. It's been a big hit and well worth it. It's great for carrying along small books and toys for church, doctor visits, and car rides. She enjoys singing both the Backpack song and the Map song with her backpack on. She also acts out scenes from the TV show, where she is Dora and assigns the proper names of Dora's friends to other people and her stuffed animals.
Overall, the plush backpack is a great item for any little one who loves Dora!

The kids just love this. Why---no clue. I ordered it because my friend asked me to order it for her daughter, so I ordered 2---one for my daughter as well. We live in the caribbean, where it's hot, so a thick plush backpack is something you don't want to have on your back. The color is cute too, but I can see it easily getting soiled. I didn't let this backpack out of the house, and ended up giving it to another child.
I liked the pull-out map feature that comes attached to it though. The flap stays closed with a magnetic closure. Good size.
