Customer Review: Gassy Gus= Endless Giggles

I purchased this game after seeing it in Toys R Us and mistaking it for a clearance item. No where on the box does it explain how it works, but it looked like a fun, quick game to enjoy with my sister who's 7. I would recommend this game for any family with little girls or boys. Since my sister's at the age where her peers think body noises are funny because parents always looked so appalled when it happens, it was a big hit!
--How it Works--
Gassy Gus comes put together and laying back in the reclining position in his chair. Under his shirt is a small balloon. One you could buy at any store, and looks water balloon sized. The game comes with an extra balloon in case something happens to the one already attached. The balloon is attached to an "L" shaped tube that's connected to his head pump. There's a rim around where the balloon goes to hold the balloon in place and keep it from rolling off during game play. Inside the TV tray in front of Gus is where the playing cards, soda bottles and extra balloon are kept. Essentially you can leave everything in his TV tray and throw the game box away.
--Setup--
Gassy Gus comes put together,all you have to do is snap him into a sitting position. When the game's over you recline Gus, by pushing a tab on the bottom of the chair over and snapping him to a reclining position, something my sister can't do and even i struggled with, the easiest thing to do for me was to just push the back of the chair down and let the tab pop out on it's own. I wouldn't' recommend you do that though, just in case you break the tab off. I think using a pen would help.
--Playing--
Each player starts with 2 soda bottle cards and 5 playing cards. You take turns putting down a card ,which says a number and that's how many times you have to pump Gus's head. If he farts, you have to take 2 more cards. To win you have to get rid of all your cards. You can use the soda bottles on your opponent and they have to add 3 more pumps to whatever number they put down. The cards only go from 0 to 7 and that's only one number 7 card. Each card has a cartoon drawing of food. The number 7 card is a bowl of beans! Cute right? Number 0 is watermelon. My sister had fun looking at the pictures of food, which included doughnuts, broccoli, tacos, burritos, nachos and other's. The soda bottle cards are shaped like little soda bottles and I'd make my sister laugh by pretending i was drinking one.
--Problems--
The only real problems we had was during setting up. The main issue was that sometimes the balloon wasn't on right, so it wouldn't inflate. Since it's such a task getting Gus to lay back it became annoying. Also we had to make sure the balloon was sticking straight up and not bent. If it was bent it would inflate into the chair. I always stopped playing when i noticed this to fix it. I was worried it would pop the balloon. Sometimes when the balloon got really really big, then deflated, I would recline Gus to make sure the balloon was on properly if we were playing again. (and we always were!)
--Fun--
I think this game is very fun and very cute. My sister and i were giggling the whole time and waiting anxiously when it looked like Gus was about to blow. It wasn't a loud sound. It was the same sound you could make inflating a balloon on your own and letting it out. But the surprise of when it was coming was the most fun for us. And maybe also wondering if this will be the time the balloon pops.
