Toys and Games Reviews of Friendly Toys Sand and Water Kingdom TableCustomer Review: Water, water, everywhere! And sand too! Summary: 5 Stars
This table is fabulous! I love how there is room enough for 2 children, and there is a choice of putting in sand, water or the goo-ey mixture that we call the "mud pit" at our house. All of these options are great for kids developing fine motor skills and increasing their sensory experiences. We bury lots of stuff to excavate and we also like the flags that come with it. The drain plugs work great (just don't misplace the plug covers like we did for a few scary days!).
The size of this table even makes it suitable to bring in during the winter for a sensory exploration table, to use with rice, beans, mardi gras beads, pasta, flour or shaving cream, if you dare!
The best feature about this table is the elastic cover that wraps around and under the table to keep non-pretend critters and other things out of it.
Customer Review: Sandy water mess that kids love. Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this for my grandaughter and she absolutely LOVES it. When I first heard about this I thought: "water + sand = mud". Well the first thing my grandaughter wanted to do was pour the sand into the water. After trying to stop her from doing that, I finally gave in and she had fun with the mud. Now I just keep damp sand in both sides and she is entertained for hours.
Two nieces that visited yesterday also had a lot of fun. It's great to see their creativity. We keep it outside on the brick patio so that the inevitable mess is easily swept into the cracks between the bricks.
I recommend not overloading with toys as the two sides get cluttered easily. A couple of forms and some damp sand and kids are making shapes in the sand and having fun.
Customer Review: So much fun! Summary: 5 Stars
We actually purchased this product through the One Step Ahead catalog... same sand and water table, but different color and ours came with a plastic tarp for underneath the table. My husband put it together this morning, and we took our 16 month old son outside on our deck and used it immedately! He absolutely loves it! He had the best time splashing the water, using the toys and playing with the sand. I would highly recommend this product. The assembly took less than 5 minutes... and it seems very sturdy. The cover is also very convenient and seems to stay put. I know my son will enjoy it for months to come. Just buy it!
Customer Review: Awful construction Summary: 4 Stars
In theory, this is a great table and my kids like playing with it. But putting it together is nearly impossible. The two sides have to link (because the water table has only two legs) and really don't. The table has crashed on my son's feet several times. When I contacted Little Tykes, they said "Yeah, that's hard to put together." The water side needs four legs or it needs to have a metal dowel that the water side can turn around. I would NOT recommend this product unless they fix this HUGE design flaw. I'm disappointed; Little Tykes products are not usually like this.
Customer Review: A good purchase! Summary: 5 Stars
This table is the perfect size - not too big or too small. My toddler loves to play with it. It's easy to move around or store. My only criticism is the drain hole for the water is in the middle - it would have been better placed in the corner so when you tip the table all the water is easily poured out. I also realize after buying this toy that my son can play with sand without getting all dirty like he would in a sandbox you sit in. You get the same benefits without having to clean them up! Update: My son still plays with this table after 2 years!
