Toys and Games Reviews of Floppy Seat Shopping Cart CoverCustomer Review: I love it! Summary: 5 Stars
My twin sons are 6 months old, and after they outgrew their carriers, we knew we had to protect them from those gross yuckies on shopping carts and highchairs.
First off the floppy seats are like blankets, so its easy to travel with both, we actually bring them almost everywhere, much more portable than other seat covers. Of course both of our sons arent in the floppy at the same time (unless I am shopping with my husband and we have two carts, they arent old enough to fit in the specialized double seated carts) but its also great to keep on the bottom of the large basket for the other twin. It fits on any sized carts seat, and it they have seat straps it can come through and be used if the floppy's on. Theres a little pouch for pacifires and things like that, usefull, DEFINATLY! I also love that theres strings to attatch to paccifires and toys, so they dont end up on the grocery stores floor! It also fits on restaurant highchairs easily, I can get it on one-handed! We keep all those germs off of them (they were premies, and they are very prone to illness) but it can also keep the cold/warmth of the metal carts off of them. It has a pillow so it makes it even more comfy! And it makes the one sitting in the big basket more comfortable, great until they are old enough to sit in the double sided seats on special carts. Its also machine washable, do this after EVERY usage, or else it will still carry germs...
This floppy seat keeps the boys comfortable, safe, and out of illness! We wouldnt go anywhere without it!
Customer Review: Don't Hesitate, Buy This Now! Summary: 5 Stars
This is by far the best baby seat protector on the market. I have used this since my baby was old enough to sit up in a shopping cart seat. She is now almost 1 1/2 years old. Every time I've used this, at least one person, (complete stranger!) will come up to me and comment on the practicality of the seat cover, and ask me where I purchased it. This seat cover also works on those yucky resturant highchairs. It covers all the places a baby could touch, and protects him or her from germs, and rough surfaces. It also gives some padding, and has a pocket on the inside - for things like sippy cups, snacks and small toys. I've washed this seat cover many times, and other than some light fading in the brightly colored fabric, I have no complaints. It can be somewhat tricky getting it put on the shopping cart with a squirming baby in your arms, so I always try to park next to a "cart corral" and put it on the cart before I get my daughter out of the carseat. This seat cover is it's own storage bag, and I just keep it in the back of my van, so I always have it when I need it. This is a GREAT product!
(Original posting, December 2004) - (following added December 2006)
As of December 27, 2006, I still am using this cart cover. My son, now 14 months old, has been using this since he could sit up, and even after his sister, now 3 1/2, out grew it, this seat cover still looks great! I am still asked at least once every shopping trip about this cover. I LOVE this product, and can not imagine shopping without it!
Customer Review: Amazing - My Baby Loves His Floppy Seat Summary: 5 Stars
After hours of researching this and similar products, I settled on the Floppy Seat. This is one of the best purchases that I have ever made. My son was fast outgrowing his infant carrier, but he was not yet able to sit up by himself. The Floppy Seat was the perfect solution.
It is such a versatle product. When my son was younger than 6 months, he could either lean to the side of the cart and rest on the cushy-ness, or, if he was tired, we could lay him down on his Floppy Seat in the child seat or in the bottom of the cart. It was such a perfect cocoon for him.
Now that he's older and can sit up by himself, his Floppy Seat keeps him safe in a couple of ways. As always, it is a great barrier between my baby and germs. Also, when he sits in those wooden restaurant high chairs, we shove the excess material from the front between him and the front of the high chair. That way, we can pull him right up to the edge of the table without the risk of him leaning over too far and bonking his little head on the table (we learned this trick the hard way!!)
We keep his Floppy Seat in the car so it is always with us. It gets used on a daily basis and has held up very well. As other reviewers have noted, I, too, have been approached by other shoppers and/or diners and asked about 'that cool seat thingy.' I am glad to answer the questions they have about the Floppy Seat.
I highly recommend the Floppy Seat to everyone with a baby!!! It is well worth the money!
Customer Review: The BUGGY BAGG is Better Summary: 1 Stars
I purchased a Floppy Seat here in Hawaii at Toys R Us. When I bought it and left the store, I tried it out at my next stop (W-Mart).
I hated it. It was extremely hard to get on the cart & doesn't fit very well over the large shopping buggys we have here.
The leg holes are very big too. The bars between my child's legs were exposed. I agree with the lady below who said that this does defeat the purpose of keeping children safe from germs. I am surprised that it does this as I would think that is the dirtiest part of the shopping cart that we would want to cover up. Right?
As I went in the store, I saw a mother shopping with her little boy. Their shopping cart cover looked awesome. I couldn't help but to stop and ask what it was & where she got it from. She said it was a BUGGY BAGG and she bought it from a lady here in Hawaii. I was so happy when she gave me that lady's info. That very day I took the Floppy Seat back to Toys R Us, contacted that lady and bought a BUGGY BAGG.
The Buggy Bagg is great! It covers absolutely every inch of the shopping cart. It even has little velcro pads that go around the leg bars to completely cover them. I love that! Also, it has many other cool things about it like a pillow, bottle holders, zippered pockets. It is so so cool. I wish I would have found the Buggy Bagg before wasting my time with the Flopppy Seat. The BUGGY BAGG is by far a way better cart cover.
Customer Review: Best Piece of Baby Gear ever! Summary: 5 Stars
My Floppy Seat is the most versatile, comfortable, wonderful piece of "baby gear" we own. I bought one after seeing another Mom use one in a shopping cart, then whip it out to lay over the changing table in the public restroom. She extolled the virtues of using it on hot summer shopping carts, rainy-wet carts, ice-cold carts, and most importantly, filthy carts!
I hopped online and ordered one immediately. We love this thing, and it was worth every penny! Amazon's picture here does not do it justice - when you see one in a cart, wrapped around the all sides of seat area, including the cart handle you are touching, you'll see why it's such a great invention. I got mine about a year ago, and my only regret is that I bought mine too early to get it with the new all-in-one bag design.
We use it in carts, but also in restaurant highchairs (which always seem to have old stuck-on food on them.) It's big enough that I can wrap it completely around the seat my son is sitting in, and soft enough that when he wants to lean down and sleep, I can just wad it up into a make-shift pillow. The belt is a little awkward to wrap around some chairs or carts, but once it's in place, it stays. Every now and then I throw it in the wash with some towels and it comes out good as new. It has never faded and it plumps right back up. People ask me about it all the time and I love telling them about it.
