This seat does do a great job at cushioning and fully covering shopping carts (even big ones) and highchairs. BUT it is not the easiest thing to use. I cannot put in on easily with one hand while holding my baby and I really cannot get it in and out of the "pouch" without a struggle. It is fine when my husband is with me so one of us can do it with two hands. On a rainy day, I end up lugging the unfolded seat and my baby and purse into a store and then clumsily set the seat cover up while balancing my son. I do like it once it is on but honestly tend to leave it in the car because it is such a hassle to set up.
