I got this one for my ten-month old boy. I played with him together and he got the idea right away about using the handle to hear the music. I think this toy will be one of his favorite as now it's still a bit too early for him. He did loved the music and interaction.
The sound from the toy was quite OK. It also seemed tough enough to take a few thrown to the ground.
I think the toy is a good value and nice to play with for the little one.

This toy was much better when I was a kid, probably because the animal sounds matched up correctly to the picture. The handle is hard for my two year old to turn, and the arrow may point to a dog and then oink! (instead of barking!) How confusing for a baby learning animals and sounds!
What a shame!!!! This could have been an awesome toy like it was back in the day. Now it is very likely to end up collecting dust and forgotten by your child.(like ours is)

My son just loves this, he is 17 mos and can't pull down the bar to hear the noises very well, but brings it to me to pull down to hear the animal noises, he has learned to say doggie now and horsey and loves to hear the dog and horse, the really cool thing about this is that it is different from the ones that were around when I was a child because it has about 15 more animal noises that you can hear if you move a circle over the main circle. This is a great toy for your little one to start learning his/her animal sounds! My son got it for Christmas, and he loved pulling the lever down to hear the animal sounds. Pretty soon, he was able to tell us what certain animals say. The only problem I could find with this toy is that the lever is a little difficult to pull down. My son is almost two, and once we showed him how to do it, he was successful with it. Overall, he has a blast playing with it.Customer Review: Better than the classic.

My son got this toy for his first birthday and has really enjoyed it. I like that it has a page to flip to do different animals, plus two songs, and it has a question spot that asks you about animals sounds. It is a lot more interactive than the older version that we all remember as a child. I am really happy with it and so is my son. He brings it to me a lot and especially loves me to make it play Old MacDonald and The Farmer in the Dell.
