When I first saw this toy, the whole gender toy issue raised it's ugly head. But, when a coworker was kind enough to buy one for my daughter as a gift, I saw firsthand just how awesome this toy is. First, all five pieces fit nicely into the pink purse - makes for easy travel. Second, having FIVE toys in the purse makes for longevity - first she eats the lipstick, then shakes the change purse, then shakes the keys, etc. Third, it's really cute, in that retro, non-Lamaze kind of way. My sister in law saw this and flipped out. Totally wanted to buy one on the spot for my niece. I absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for a cool toy for a little girl. This is a really great toy and we were excited to give it to our daughter at her first birthday. The only drawback is she can't open the purse by herself. You have to push the handle very hard towards the back to get it to open. It took our three year old quite a while to do it and sometimes she can't and has to ask us for help. We had a similar problem with the Sesame Purse that was made a few years ago. They need to redesign the purse so that is is easy to open. It could possiby be a heavy duty cloth bag with velcro closure or something along that line. The toys inside are great so we generally leave them out of the purse for her to play with.Customer Review: HUGE HIT FOR TODDLER GIRLS!

My daughter received this as a gift when she turned one and I didn't give it to her right away thinking she was too young. Once I showed it to her at age 14 months, she absolutely loved it! She pretends to be painting her lips and mine with the big plastic lipstick. She loves opening, closing and shaking the coin purse (it's great because there's only the "sound" of coins so no mess to pick up). And she opens and closes the cell phone while pretending to talk on it. She's 16 months old now and totally understands that it's "her purse" and LOVES emptying and filling it. My 15 month old daughter received this as a gift. While she does enjoy playing with it, there are several aspects that could be improved.
1) The "comb" is not really a comb - just a solid piece of plastic. Would it be that difficult to make this an actual comb?
2) The phone is supposed to squeak when you press the keypad, but ours doesn't. Maybe we just got a dud.
3) Trying to fit everything into the purse is nearly impossible for a young child. With some careful planning you can get it all in, but it's a very tight fit.

This was a gift for my two granddaughters who are 1 and 1/2 years old. They both love it, dragging it, carrying it, putting other items in it etc. For the price, I couldn't be more pleased. They are both "girly" girls, and have older brothers. It was nice to give them something that was special, not expensive, and just perfect for their age. They couldn't hurt themselves with any object in the purse and they could carry it with them without fear of breaking it or falling on it. Thanks for keeping this in stock. It is such a great gift item. m.
