I'm just starting to potty train my 20 month old and I bought this toy to make the process more fun for her. His voice is easily activated by pressing his hand or putting the sippy cup in his mouth. My daughter is sometimes intimidated by toys that are too loud or active, but she has no problem with this toy at all. She does put him on the potty and use the sippy cup, as well as use him for other pretend play. It is a softer, more huggable doll than some of the other more active Elmo dolls. Overall, it's a cute toy for little ones who love Elmo. Whether or not it actually helps with the potty training remains to be seen! Potty Elmo comes with removable "big boy" underpants, small potty, sippy cup and cloth book.Customer Review: Great concept

The Potty Elmo I feel is a great concept and for some kids would work really well. Though it did not work for my daughter. It's hard to rate teaching toys for kids, just for the simple fact that all kids are so different. It's worth a shot to at least try and even if your child is like mine and it doesn't work at least they still have a pretty neat toy to play with. Ashlee loves to give Elmo his drink and then make him sit on the potty. I feel she may still be a little to young to understand that's what she is suppose to do also. So I'm rating this with four stars just on the basis of it being a good toy. Should you decide to buy this product and it work, then great, if not don't sweat it!!!Customer Review: I had more fun!!

I gave elmo 4 stars because I had more fun with him then my daughter did, she's only 16mo old so, I wouldn't really not buy the toy based on my review. I know 16mo old is usually a little early to start potty training, but my daughter keeps on bring me diapers. So I decided what the heck. That and she liked it when it was in the box. Since I've opened it she's wanted NOTHING to do with it though. But today I sat her on her potty and read her the see and sound elmo book, and before I got done with the second page, she decided to go potty!! So I guess elmo still came through for me!! LOL!! Hopefully she'll have fun with the toy when she gets older.Customer Review: Potty elmo worked!!!!

My daughter went to the potty the day I got Potty Elmo!! I had been attempting to potty train my daughter for weeks with no success. It was just weeks of reading and teaching her stuff on the potty. Until I got potty elmo. When my daughter saw potty elmo, she was so excited she his name over, over and over again.
She went to the potty the afternoon I gave it to her.
I keep potty elmo in the bathroom so she has something to look forward to when she goes potty. She did not like the idea too much at first to keep elmo in the bathroom, but got over it. Potty Elmo worked for me!!
Customer Review: Store mode / Home mode

We got this for a present.....it was out of the box when it was received by our son so I did not know about the store mode / home mode. I thought this toy was useless until I read the review saying they had trouble with the plastic tab for the home mode to be activated. I found something to stick in there and it did not help. I just had to hit poor Elmo until the two metal pieces touched and wouldn't you know it that Elmo now is working properly and saying lots of things. Our son is liking it now after 6 months! I think Mattel could do better with the design of the store mode/home mode.
