Customer Review: WHAT A WONDERFUL TOOL FOR POTTY TRAINING!

Our little guy is almost 17 months, started potty training at 15 months. We have a BOON Potty Bench (love it). We have had the Elmo Potty Doll for almost a week now. Purchased it second hand.. We have the "POTTY TIME WITH ELMO" book with all the push buttons and sounds. I thought since he's already associating Elmo with potty, the doll could only help? Well, let me tell you in our situation it was an INSTANT connection. He LOVES feeding elmo his water "pretend" from the sippy cup, he even knows how to get Elmo to make the "gulp gulp gulp" sounds.. he tries to make the same sound...too cute..
When we get up in the morning.. I take his diaper off and say.. let's go Potty with Elmo..and he runs and climbs onto his potty and holds Elmo and feeds him and puts him on the potty. He loves it. Our main goal is to just have him sit on the potty a few times a day.. for 10 minutes...if he goes, that's just a bonus...if not, no worries just want to start a routine..
He has 35 stickers in his potty book already..and this morning was the best..
Did our routine and sat on the potty but nothing.. put on his diaper..and let him play..about 5 minutes later he went to the potty and tried to sit on it with his diaper on then got up to get Elmo..and I heard the grunt... got him on in time and he pooped & pee'd ON THE POTTY!!!!
Please remember:
- this is just a tool, one of many for potty training.
- Elmo doesn't actually drink any water or go pee, it's just pretend with some sound effects, but I like that he doesn't always go.. "elmo will try again later.."
We love it.. it's working well for us so far..
I really don't know if we would spend almost $100 dollars on it though, but if money isn't an issue, I really believe there is great value in this product.
