Toys and Games Reviews of Ocean Wonders Rockin' Aquarium GymCustomer Review: Mommy times 2 Summary: 1 Stars
I give this toy a big NEGITIVE 10! I am a second time mom so, I've been around the block once before! This toy outright stinks! I was appalled to hear an advisor for Fisher Price say my infant "did not weigh enough!" She is 8 weeks old and weighs about 8 pounds or somewhere around there which her doctor thinks is rather average! We had purchased this toy for a christmas present for Olivia, she was in there for about 20 minutes @ a time about 3 times a piece. The toy would activate when her father or I would push the button or when we would activate it by "rocking the boat" that, by the way, dosen't rock! But, she would be in there for five or ten minutes kicking and screaming bloody murder and the stupid thing would not "activate", the "boat" would be moving too. Which never made any sense to me. Also, box indicated a chocking hazard for under age three but, in directions or anywhere else it never mentioned what the choking hazard was and that the toy was designed for 0 - 24 months. If I would have headed the warnings from other parents I would not have waisted my time nor my effort with this toy. I returned it the next day, a very dissatsfied faithful Fisher Price purchaser, seeking other alternitives!
Customer Review: My baby LOVES this! Summary: 5 Stars
This is the very first review I have written since my son was born - and it's because we LOVE this gym (or the boat as we call it!)
We purchased this just as my son was starting to sit up (about 5 months old). He was in the phase of wanting to sit up, but still needing some support or something to grab at eye level to play with. Since one of the ways you can adjust this gym is to tilt it at an angle so your child can sit at the "wheel", we figured we'd give it a try. He immediately feel in love with it, and starting steering, and laughing and talking to the lights and fish. It is sturdy enough that he can grab hold of the wheel or the sides. The wheel lights up and spins as music plays and the fish inside "swim".
The only flaw we have found is that our son is so long (a bit tall for his age) and when he does lay back on occasion, his head lands off the edge of the mat. So we had to put a blanket there for additional padding just in case. But he has been playing with it for almost 2 months now, and still loves it. It comes with 4 removable toys, and his new game is trying to take them out and put them back. So it does adapt and offers new things to do as he grows.
Customer Review: Not Thrilled with this at all Summary: 3 Stars
We bought this item because we were so pleased with the Aquarium Bouncer Seat and the Crib Aquarium so we thought our little boy would love this as well. Well, the first problem we found was with the screws. For some reason we can not get them to screw in as tightly as they need to be and two of them have actually fallen out a couple of times (not when my baby was playing with it fortunately) Also, our baby only seemed to care for this toy for a very short period of time. I think he decided he liked it at about 3 months and by the time he turned 4 months he would watch the fish for all of 5 mins before crying out of boredom. Last week I went back to Babies R Us and purchased the Fisher Price Musical Play Garden and that has worked out wonderfully. It is a much safer toy and our son gets so much more enjoyment out of it. Word of warning...don't buy this just because you have the rest of the Aquarium line..you will be disppointed!
Customer Review: Ocean Wonders Rockin' Aquarium Summary: 1 Stars
I should have taken more time to read the reviews for the Ocean Wonders Rockin Aquarium Gym, had I done this, I would not have registered for this item. This is my first child, so I am just learning. The first time we put our son down on it, he was about 2 weeks old. He was able to spin the ball on the rattle, so my husband and I were happy with the gift until we turned the music wheel on. After about 10 seconds, the fish in the wheel gets stuck and it makes loud clicking noises that never stops unless you hit it. Addition to that, there isn't any padding and the hanging toys fall down. I wanted to return this item but my husband threw the box away. But, after reading the reviews, several consumers have returned it. I plan on doing the same, otherwise I will throw it in the trash. Fisher Price should have tested this item more before putting it on the market. I think this item will be recalled soon, if it hasn't already.
Customer Review: DEF WORTH THE PRICE Summary: 5 Stars
This is my second child and with the first I went through 3 gyms that were either lame or feel apart. The Rockin' Aquarium Gym has so many things to look at and is VERY sturdy. I love that the toys are in arms reach and that the 4 smaller toys can actually come off for chewing time and can be thrown in the wash or dish washer. The music plays for a long time so you dont have to keep running back to it to reset if you are busy with dinner or other children. My daughter is only 2 months old so she cant set it off herself. I love that the mat is screwed onto the gym and how the gym leans back for older children. My 3 year old plays with it also! The one thing I would change about it is that the pad is not very "padded". It covers a plastic piece and it seems a little hard for a baby. But I just layer on a few small blankets and she is good to go. Over-all...AWESOME ADDITION FOR ANY BABY'S COLLECTION OF TOYS.
