Customer Review: Good but not quite as shown - No Shephard in our Sets?!

Bought two sets here on Amazon from this seller. (The price seems to fluctuate here, but I paid in the thirties.) The sets shipped very fast.
I made a tradition out of the set by reading parts of the Bible story and giving my girls a part of the set each night: the angel, then Mary, then Joseph, donkey, stable and animals, Jesus with batteries for the star, (uh...) a sheep, and then the wise men. We'll see what they think next year, but this year has been a big hit!
Pros:
- A nice set with lots of diverse pieces, including a rolling donkey cart.
- Star lights up and sings song.
- For what it's worth, the angel is nicer than I expected, with nice opalescent painted wings.
Cons:
- Doesn't match the set pictured here on Amazon. See below.
- No Shepherd? What kind of nativity story doesn't include a shepherd? It was apparently a conscious decision, since there's not one pictured on the outside of our boxes, either. Our sets came with two palm trees and two donkeys (each slightly different, at least), in addition to a cow, sheep and camel. There's even a cart, food for the cart, and a second manger (besides Jesus's), so it seems odd to have cut the Shepherd instead of some of those other options.
- Paint rubs/scratches off. Similar to other little people, the paint tends to come off in places. Not a surprise ordinarily, but I was kind of hoping this would be an "heirloom" piece.
