I didn't know that this is only a cartridge when I registered for it, and neither did my sister when she bought it for my one-year-old. We ripped open the box only to find that we had to buy the $35 system to enjoy it. Well, I was certainly not happy, but my daughter didn't even notice. She carried it around and pointed out the characters as if it was a regular toy. Seven months later, I found it for a bargain price on an auction website and now she finally gets to see what it was meant to do. It lights up, plays music, and is interactive throughout the dozen-or-so screens. My 17-month-old has fallen in love with the cartridge all over again now that she can hear and see the cool things it does in the system. I recommend this only if you can get the system for cheaper, if not don't bother with buying this cartridge at all.
