Toys and Games Reviews of Fisher-Price T.M.X. Tickle Me Elmo

Customer Review: Don't be Mad people.
Summary: 5 Stars

I know people are E-mailing alot of negative reviews about Amazon leting vendors sell Elmo for more then it's retail for. What i have to say about this is Please people we live in a world that people don't care to spend 100 dollars or more on a elmo for there kid.. I bet if you had one you wouldn't be e-mailing negative reviews. Alot of people are saying shame on amazon & people who are trying to buy and sell on ebay.. I'm a parent and i want everything cool for my kids, but sometimes your kid can't get everything. Don't worry people more elmo's are being shiped and made. It's sucks that it has to be this way but if people are going to spend the money why not sell. Don't blame amazon blame the people who will pay $200 for a 39.99 toy. My kids love elmo but i wouldn't pay $200 dollars i would just wait, even if i had to wait after christmas. My kids have every other elmo. If Fisher-price knows this is going to be the hotest toy why not make enough for everybody.. Blame Fisher-Price not people who are trying to make money. I feel for people if they can't get one but everyone just have to relax. If you can't get it for your kids now then get it later. I don't think your kids will hate you.. Good Luck to everybody in trying to get TMX Elmo...

Customer Review: Fun for some kids, but annoying to others and many adults
Summary: 3 Stars

My 7M boy loves this toy. I got it a few days before Christmas and at first he was a little afraid of this talking toy that thrashes its right arm and bends over back and front. But soon he grew fond of TMX Elmo and now loves to watch Elmo do its antics. My boy's favorite is to hold down Elmo as the latter tries to move.

While my boy is fond of the toy, I've seen other kids -- babies and toddlers alike -- becoming totally scared of TMX Elmo. Most older kids become bored quickly, as do most adults. In fact, like many adults, I find the toy quite annoying. Thd sound quality is really poor, and the toy feels crude in the hand. (Make sure you kid doesn't put the "fur" into his or her mouth as the dye comes off easily.)

Elmo has only three "tickle" spots (they are more like "press hard" spots). Its laughing antics have three patterns: press once to set off pattern A; press again at end of A to start B; and press again at end of B to begin C, which is the longest and can be a little hilarious as Elmo seems to be laughing its head off.

In the end, I feel $40 was a lot to pay for a toy like this, but since my little Charlie loves it, I guess for us it was all worth it. The TMX Elmo is rated for 18M+.

Customer Review: Mixed feelings...depends why you want it.

My daughter is 4 years old and desperately wanted one for Christmas. She just loves Elmo and after seeing it in action on TV and the internet, she was sold. After much searching I finally found one and I can't quite say that poor little Elmo has ever made it through a full cycle more than once or twice. She seems to lose interest after a minute or two. Other than laugh, he doesn't do anything other than stand there. Even when he's active, you're just standing there watching and it's the same deal over and over and over. It's not so funny anymore after the first few times. You can't make him sit or cuddle with him. He's not a stuffed animal at all. Honestly, she was more impressed with the little box that makes the giggle sound when you open the flap. The one that comes with the box and says to discard as it is not part of the toy. She likes to hide it places and then push the button.

If you want this for your child and money is no object, I say go for it. I'd be willing to bet your child will lose interest after a day or two. If you are an adult and collect elmo stuff, I think you'll love it. This is just one of those toys that your happiness will depend on what you expect from it.

Customer Review: RATE ELMO NOT AMAZON!
Summary: 5 Stars

I realize a lot of you moms are mad, because you could not get your hands on an Elmo, and now they are selling for a lot on Ebay and such, but COME ON!

I was one of those horrible people that got up today and headed down to my local Wal-Mart to get me a few Elmo's, one of which I opened for myself. He is awesome! He laughs and slaps his knee and rolls around on the floor. I showed him to all my relatives and they were hysterically laughing!

Sure the novelty will wear off over time, but I believe a child will think he is funny. My two kids are seven and nine, so they are kind of old for Elmo, but they thought he was so funny. He is worth it just for the fun that Elmo is.

Would I pay more than 39.99 for one? No, but I know there are a lot of people who will and are paying a lot for them. If I can sell my extras on Ebay, and make a little extra Christmas money to help me out, how is that horrible? If I couldn't get one and wanted one then I would just wait until another shipment and keep an eye out. If you want one, then that's what you should do. If you find more than one and want some extra Christmas money, then great!

Customer Review: This is too cute!
Summary: 5 Stars

I remember the first Tickle Me Elmo crazy and I bought if for my niece. That one was cute but this is just adorable. I've been playing with it and I can't wait for my 4 yr old to get home from school. We were just at Sesame Place last month and he's on an Elmo kick. He's going to LOVE this!

To those of you who didn't get one..... Amazon has been preselling these things through a big ad on the main page for THREE months!!! You could have ordered one at anytime. I missed out at Walmart today and got 3 at 3 different KB Toy stores. Then I came on Amazon around 11am and got 4 more for a grand total of SEVEN, yes SEVEN of them!!!! One for my son and six for ebay. Yes I am money hungry and greedy. I can't work due to a disabled child who needs lots of expensive therapies and medicines. If people on ebay want to pay me $200-300 for my other six Elmos then I say let them. That just means more therapy for my son. My son needs his therapy more than your kid Elmo. Sorry. And he will continue to need his therapies long after your kid loses interest in the toy. Open your eyes, this is America. Land of the greed, money, hungry, look out for number one!!!
