Customer Review: Yet another retired Fisher Price Elmo GEM! But don't pay retail!

The kind of animatronics technology that fisher price has is simply amazing. If you are considering this toy, you must have already seen the elmo live toy (which is essentially a miniature elmo-terminator); that toy is definitely worth MORE than whatever you will pay for it. Not so with elmo pizza. He only knows 1 song, and the pizza lip-sync isn't the greatest. And he IS loud and the song can get repetitive after a while. But even with all these shortcomings, he is exponentially better than anything we had as kids (even if you were a kid not all that long ago). To see the pizza open his eyes, and start singing is definitely a jetsons/1999/hovercraft/futuristic epiphany moment.
look the fact of the matter is that fisher price can build an elmo ultimate, who can sing, toss pizza, lip sync, dance, tickle, and all the while pandering to your offspring/s (see "elmo knows your name"). this is 1/10th of the hypothetical elmo ultimate, but also 1/10th of the price. So don't pay through the nose for elmo pizza, if you can find it for a reasonable price, by all means grab it. if not, elmo ultimate (aka cyberdyne systems E-800) is just around the corner...

I showed this to my 10 month old son in the store. I tend to show him things while we are shopping and talk to him about the things we see. WHen I showed him the Pizza Elmo, his face lit up and he started clapping EVERY TIME Elmo would sing the song. Even though the package said 18 months and up, we got it anyways. We figured we would just supervise him with it. He LOVES it. I have never see him like this with any toy. BUT - perhaps it is best to follow the guidelines. We bought it on Monday and it was broken by Wednesday. Perhaps he broke a motor or something by hugging it so tight when it was singing and dancing. We tried to change the batteries, but he will just start the song and then stop suddenly right in the middle. I may try to exchange it for a new one because I don't really know why it quit working, but I'll have to put it away for a while and give it to him when he's a little older.Customer Review: Cute, but annoying!

I got this for my 2 year old. He loved watching the little video online, so I figured he like the real one as well. He's played with it a couple times and likes to dance to the song, but gets tired of it quickly. I think the song should be a little shorter.
I don't like the fact that there's no volume control on it. It's so loud! It's also pointless for this to come with the cardboard pizza boxes. They all have holes in them from where they were tied into the box, so they're not even worth playing with (if they're even supposed to be).
It's pretty cute the first 50 times, but my husband wanted to throw the thing out the window after a while!

I saw this item while browsing around on Amazon.com. I was doing my Christmas shopping and I happened to stumble on this toy. I knew my son loved Elmo, so I knew this would make a great gift for him. He's been playing with it since opening it on Christmas Day. I wish the toy could do more than just sing "The Pizza Song," because it becomes annoying after hearing it so many times in one day. I wish Elmo could toss the pizza, or do something more creative at least. Maybe like give directions on how to make a pizza pie. I think that would be educational for children. Either way, it's a fun toy for my son and I'm sure it'll be fun for any Elmo fan out there.Customer Review: My 31 month old Grandaughter loves Pizza Elmo

I bought Pizza Elmo for my grandchild this past Xmas. She likes to watch classic Sesame Street songs on youtube and that`s where she spotted this toy. When he arrived I was surprised by his small size, then I thought he wasn`t working properly because his song was much shorter than on the video clip. What happens is that in the box he plays a demo song, then you put in your own batteries then he sings the full song as well as tells a joke. He is very cute and the box he comes in is like a set you should keep.He stays at my house at her parents request, they get annoyed by the repititious song, however my Grandaughter could listen to it all day!
