Toys and Games Reviews of Fisher-Price Sesame Street Silly Sounds RemoteCustomer Review: Wouldn't have thought this little thing could be so much fun Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this for my 1 year old grandson for Xmas based on other reviews and the fact that grandson also loves remote controls. I couldn't quite understand his fascination with this toy, but he immediately went to the t.v. and pointed it at it, then played for a while with the eyes (which he really loves), then toddled over to the family t.v. chair and tried to put it in the remote control pocket on the side of the chair! Whoever designed this toy really works with toddlers, because my grandson utterly understood what this was supposed to be. My daughter said it is his new carseat toy, laughing at the voices when he presses the numbers. Real hit here.
Customer Review: His Own Remote Summary: 4 Stars
Our son loves remotes. He would take our remote and play with it. We wanted our remote back! This one is great because it is gray just like our cable box remote so my son feels like he has a "real" remote instead of a toy. I really like the fact that the remote says the numbers you press and that the volume actually increases with the volume button. Each button has three sayings: the number and two things the character usually says. The eyes at the top are fun too. They are controlled by the button on the side. When we received the remote, the center of each pupil was rubbed off but I didn't mind because I knew it would be abused anyway.
Customer Review: Ok - but couldn't fool our son! Summary: 2 Stars
Our 10-month old had a real passion for the remote - it could quiet him in a heartbeat and he'd work across the floor to get at it. We thought this might do as a stand in - and it's ok, but I think what he likes about the real remote is that when you push a button, lights go on.
This has nice sounds - but no lights. So he sees it as an ok noisemaker (but not for long - he'll play with it for a minute then toss it) - but not as a remote, which is what we were hoping for. Without that "substitute" aspect - I'm not sure what value it is as a toy (a kid will only sit and push a button on a plastic box for so long).
Customer Review: Everyone enjoys it! Summary: 4 Stars
Ok, it's not the big thing, but your kids will enjoy it, even the older ones! It's extremly durable, will distract your kids for just a few moments, and even can teachs them a little to count from zero to nine, but it is funny just for a little while, and your kids gets bored quickly with this toy, at least mine does.
Great if you have a 1-2 year old baby and loves to distroy your T.V. control by throwing it all over the places, but dangerous if your head is the target of your kid! (Believe me, I've recieved so much bombing with this toy... and really hurts!) It's very very resistant and for its price, it's good.
Customer Review: Can't fool my baby Summary: 3 Stars
I was very excited about this one - in hopes that my 11 month old would finally relinquish our own TV remote to us. My plan failed. The toy entertained her for a day and she's gone back to the real deal. She's even learned cause and effect thanks to Panasonic- push real TV remote and watch TV set change channels. She prefers this more than hearing Elmo on the toy remote. I think it the real remote has an advantage because it's black and not gray. Also note: my daughter managed to scratch off the paint with her teeth on the toy remote which can't be good! It's a great concept, but didn't fool our little one.
