Toys and Games Reviews of Fisher-Price Sesame Street Silly Sounds RemoteCustomer Review: Kid enjoys it more than adults Summary: 4 Stars
This remote is quite durable, as it has been bounced off the floor numerous times (almost a negative - it's some tough plastic, which lends itself well to a racket when it gets thrown or falls). My kid seems to like it more than I care for it. Except for the odd-looking eyes at the top, it looks very much like a regular remote, save it's a tad thicker (good for small hands, I assume).
The sounds aren't incredibly annoying, but I wish it had a "mode" switch. When you press a button, it goes through a regular pattern of sounds - 1/2 of them Elmo (press 1, get Cookie Monster as pictured; press 1 again, get Elmo saying "one"). I'm not a huge fan of Elmo, and could do with less of him :P
Customer Review: Button #3 says "Get Lost". Summary: 1 Stars
My daughter is around 1 yr old and learning to speak. I was shock that one of the buttons says "Get Lost". It is the #3 button. I called Fisher Price and at first, the representative said that they will not make a product that do that. Then, she researched into it and apologized that it does say that because it is the Grouch character from Sesame Street on the #3 button and he says those kinds of words. There is nothing you can do to turn that button off. I think I may have to take the toy away from my daughter because the #3 is right there on the right where she presses frequently. Overall, I would not recommend this toy to a friend. I do not want my daughter's first words to be "Get Lost".
Customer Review: Good baby remote Summary: 4 Stars
My baby still wants the real remote, but this toy is good because any button he presses will make a sound - even by just picking it up some buttons usually get pressed, which gets his attention. Toys where the baby has to press very specific buttons are annoying. Also, it doesn't go on and on after he puts it down. Some toys keep going for a while and/or are too loud - this one is not annoying in those ways. My 2 year old also likes to make cookie monster's eyes close and she thinks it's funny, so that's a plus. I took a star away becuase the baby doesn't play with it for that long, though - he seems to prefer things with moving parts like a ball popper, or just throwing/dropping things :)
Customer Review: Needed a toy remote to save our actual remote...this worked Summary: 4 Stars
Our infant was forever fascinated with our remote so I needed to find a replacement that was safe for her. My cousin-in-law and I both purchased this remote for our daughters since both girls were after our remotes and this looked the closest to it.
Cute toy. Both girls have figured out this is not the real deal but it's starting to spark my daughter's interst again now that she's figured out she can make Elmo blink.
You will still have to hide your remote but this is cute. The paint on his eyes scratched off a little but looks easy to touch up with a Sharpie. Compared the various toy remotes and this one had the best reviews and looks the most "realistic".
Customer Review: Love the Funny Remote! Summary: 5 Stars
We bought this for our daughter when she was 9 months, and she still loves it at 15 months. Our family loves the humor built into all the Sesame Street programs and toys, and this remote is no different. The volume key actually works to incrementally turn up or down the volume of the toy and the big Monster eyes are a hit with the little one, they make a cute "power on / power off" noise when you hit the button on the side. She always liked to open and shut the eyes with her finger and I think this helped refine her control of her index finger.
The best part of the remote is that it has saved us from numerous tantrums as it is very easy to throw in the diaper bag.
