Toys and Games Reviews of Fisher-Price Sesame Street Silly Sounds Remote

Customer Review: Attention getting
Summary: 4 Stars

My son had this uncanny knack of finding the TV remote every chance he could. And because he was teething, we though "not such a good idea for him to play with." My wife and I then went to a party at a friend's house, and of all the toys their child had, my son was only interested in this one. We needed to purchase it immediately. We were thankful that his interest has kept up with it and he is no longer playing with our real remote (regularly anyway.) Our only concern is that as he bites on the top where the eyes are, the paint has come off a little. So we have limited his use as we notice his biting. We keep a watchful eye on him and the list of recalled toys (i.e. Lead in the Paint). As for the toy itself, although it's not much of a brain development toy, it does occupy him a great deal. And as along as he's happy.... we're happy.

Customer Review: Great Carry Along Toy
Summary: 4 Stars

Our granddaughter Emersyn loves this toy, she can take it along on in the car. She has a vivid imagination and exceptional learning abilities that this toy allows her to exercise some of her learning skills while on the go. It is difficult to find toys to take in the car that are not too big and space consuming, this one fits well. She likes all the buttons on the toy but much prefers the adult version over it if she can get her hands on it. They need to construct child toys to resemble adult ones to draw her attention to them. Trying to duplicate adult technology has to be difficult, I do wish it was a bit more challenging for her because she is so beyond her age specified toys too often. She enjoys it for awhile although it is not a lengthy playtime toy, that's the reason for my 4 star rating. It could be better.

Customer Review: Baby has his own remote!
Summary: 5 Stars

We got this remote for our six-month-old son because he kept wanting to grab our TV remote. He only played with it a little at that point, but now at nine months, he loves it. He pushes the buttons and laughs at the sounds. This is a really cute toy - each number button has Elmo saying what number it is as well as either a Sesame Street character saying 2-3 different things, or else a sound effect. (I personally find Cookie Monster saying "Yum yum yum" to be hilarious.) The remote also has eyes at the top that open and close with the push of a button. This toy seems durable - its been dropped several times and still works fine. This toy is definitely one of our son's favorite small toys, and its a great toy for him to play with in the car as well. I highly recommend it for babies nine months and up.

Customer Review: 7 MONTH OLD LIKES THE REMOTE
Summary: 4 Stars

I brought this for my 7-month-old grandson because as already much said, the children like remotes. He went for it hook, line and sinker. He likes his own remote and he knows that it is different from the TV remote. It holds up well because he is at the age where he pushes everything onto the floor and so his remote goes. But only after he's pushed some buttons or tried to move the eyes himself. He will take my hands and put it on it so that I can continuously move the switch to blink the eyes quickly; he likes that. I thought this remote would do the trick and it did; at this space and time it is the only object (other than the real remote) that keeps his attention and it is not the sounds as much as the buttons.

Customer Review: Great alternative to the real thing
Summary: 5 Stars

Our son loves this toy. We bought it to help entertain him on a long flight when he was 13 months old and it was terrific. The fact that you can change the volume was a life saver. He could continue to play with it on very quiet while not driving the other people on the plane crazy. He loves to play pretend with it and tends to pretend it is a telephone. We do not watch enough television for him to recognize the characters or catch phrases from the show but he certainly enjoys the noises. Of course he LOVES the blinking eyes and will blink with them as he pushes the button. All in all, I think this is a great toy, it keeps his attention, is not too irritating and easy to take along when we are out and about.
