My 4 month old was just starting to reach for things and one of the thing she seems to like to reach for is the remote control in our house and then put it in her mouth. I had this horrifying vision of having to clean every remote in the house repeatedly throughout the day or (light bulb!) I can find her a remote control of her very own to play with. After looking online and in store, this toy remote was the most realistic looking one that I can find. Even though my baby was younger than the recommended age, after making sure that it doesn't have any small parts that can become choking hazard, I didn't read further and just bought the thing.
When I first fished the toy remote out of the Amazon shipping box, I was delighted to find that the buttons make all sorts of sounds. I had my daughter in my arm then, and she immediated wanted to play with it before I can completely unwrap the toy from it's original packaging. She especially loves the blinking eyes on the top of the remote which makes a sound when it blinks. So now when she tries to reach for the remote out of our hands, I just do a switch-a-roo and hand her this toy. She always smile when she sees it, and is quite content to play with it instead of having the real remote.
My little girl is now 6 months old and still do not know how to push the buttons yet, but loves holding it and putting it in her mouth. She chuckles when you pushes the buttons or make the eyes blink. I feel this was a good investment on a toy that she can grow into and enjoy along the way.
