Toys and Games Reviews of Fisher-Price® Roll-a-Rounds? Drop & Roar? DinosaurCustomer Review: Super toy. The price has to be a typo, no? Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this at a thrift shop for my daughter when she was about 18 months old. She adored it then, and even though she's really far too "advanced" for it now (2 1/2 years old), she still loves it.
This is a very well made, durable, colorful dinosaur with sound effects that won't drive you up a wall. The little "rawr!" is adorable. Like previous reviewers mentioned, balls do get stuck in one of the holes, but I never even noticed it until people mentioned it here-- it just didn't bug us. Maybe because my daughter was older when she began using it, she just fished the balls out herself, no big deal.
To me, it's as cute as it appears, and a solid purchase for either a boy or a girl.
Customer Review: What's up with the price? Summary: 4 Stars
Do NOT pay almost a hundred bucks for this item. I was just at Babies R Us and they had at least 30 on the floor at $29.99. I don't even understand how Amazon can list a retailer who inflates the price so much.
As far as the toy is concerned, my twins who are almost 3 go to therapy twice a week for their fine and gross motor skills. This toy has been there since they started over a year ago and is still holding strong. The boys love it and now my 9 month old plays with it too. It's not necessarily something I'd think to buy on my own but given their reaction to it there I want to purchase it for our home this holiday season. I definately think it's worth $30, not $100.
Customer Review: no interest to our baby Summary: 2 Stars
Our son got this toy when he was 6mths old and still at 12 mths he could care less about it. In fact the only use it gets is him crawling on it to get to something out of reach. He has played with it a few times but only because we were sitting right there playing with it with him.
The balls get stuck in the middle hole and our son likes the sound and lights and all he does it stick his finger in the hole and make the sound and lights go off without the ball.
Out of 6 mths he has maybe played with it five times (again because we were playing with it to get him to play with it) for about 2 minutes. Glad we didn't waste our money on it, instead it was a gift.
Customer Review: Keeps them entertained Summary: 4 Stars
One of my sons favorite toys (age 10-12 months). He loved to use the different slots and played with his dino for 5-10 minutes on average - a couple of times a day. It's a big toy - so be prepared, it will need some space - and batteries.
We had the FP Treehouse with the Roll-A-Rounds before and I thought he will be happy with the bigger Dino, but the treehouse was much better in drawing his attention (so 4 instead of 5 stars). The Roll-A-Rounds get stuck in the middle section sometimes, but I used that to put them away after playtime.
After 2 months, I sold it (needed space for new toys), but kept the treehouse (he still plays with that).
Customer Review: 10 months old - loves it. Summary: 5 Stars
My baby loved it at about 10 months, and now at 13 months still enjoys it. It does take up a bit of floor space and is not 'easy to store' but it's worth the space. It does not get used every day, after they discover how the balls go into the holes it loses some of it's appeal, but they return to discover new things - how it triggers the music, or how the ball causes the mouth to open, or that the balls come out at different areas. Overall, it's a nice toy and enjoyable enough. Still not as popular as the police rocker (see my reviews) or the Chicco ride-on car (my eldest started with the Chicco car at 12 mos and STILL uses it every day at 2.5 years old).
