Toys and Games Reviews of Fisher-Price® Roll-a-Rounds? Drop & Roar? DinosaurCustomer Review: A good addition to the toybox Summary: 4 Stars
My son loves this toy. I bought it for him when he was only a couple of months old for his first Christmas. At about 4 months he enjoyed watching me put the balls in the holes and would rock back and forth to the music. He is expecially fond of the dino's head and would open and shut the mouth even without the balls. He is now 9 months old and still enjoys this toy very much. He now puts the balls in the holes all by himself. The toy still holds his attention for quite a while. I have other toddler age children come to visit and they find the toy fascinating as well.
I only have a couple of complaints about the toy. When you put a ball in the center hole it will hang up on the pendulum and not come out the bottom. This is true of the tail section as well if the tail is not perfectly lined up with the main section of the toy. Still, all in all, it is a great toy and I would recommended it
Customer Review: Roarin' Good Toddler time with FP Roll-arounds Dino Summary: 4 Stars
You get a musical, colorful dino with light show included. Granted my 3 1/2 year enjoys it more than my 6 month old, but it holds both their attention for extended periods of time.
My 6 month old isn't quite coordinated enough to put the roll-arounds into the respective slots himself, but if I place them in there he will push them through and gets excited about the Dino's musical lightshow response.
He is quite intrigued with the roll-arounds themselves. He enjoys twisting and turning them checking out the objects contained within, as well as rolling them and chasing after them.
As an infant/toddler toy I might recommend it more for young ones 9 months to year unless they are very coordinated. However, as a toy for my 3 1/2 year and 6 month old to enjoy together works out great.
Customer Review: Pass on this one! Summary: 1 Stars
My 12 month old son received this toy as a gift. The toy takes up a lot of space for very little excitement/return of play value. It was a week before my son figured out the little buttons turned on the music and he didn't even need to push the balls through. On average, when he did play with it, it was for about 30 seconds. We have hardwood floors and the balls just rolled away under the furniture. So that was a pain too! Eventually, it became something he climbed up on to reach other things so it was removed to the basement before he turned 18 months. Also, the little trap door kept falling off and on one of the ball paths, the ball kept getting stuck somewhere in the dinosaur. I'd save my money and buy something smaller, less expensive and with more features to keep the child's interest.
Customer Review: Has Served Us Well Summary: 4 Stars
We got this toy for our twin boys when they were about 9 months old. They have loved it. They are now almost 2 and they still play with it on occasion. They love dropping the balls in and they often put other toys in too just to see if they drop out. Or they will push the balls in backwards to watch them come out the front. It's like a little experiment to them. I have only two complaints. The first is that balls do get stuck in the middle section. The second is that the little yellow door on the bottom left is easy for them to pull off. Not that it is small enough to swallow, but sometimes it would get lost. Other than that, this has been a good investment for us. But speaking of that, we did not spend $75 as they are charging on Amazon. This toy is a lot cheaper at other stores.
Customer Review: My son loves this toy! Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this toy for my son at a consignment sale ($5.00) and he loves it! It is expensive in stores...as far as im concerned spending upwards of $80.00 on any toy for an infant/toddler is ridiculous. My son is now 14 mos old and has been playing with the toy for several months. He loves it. The ball does get stuck on the pendulum level, but he learned to reach in and push it out! It does have educational value for young toddlers/infants as it teaches cause and effect. He still brings the balls over to me so that I will come and play. He laughs when the lights/noises start. He also likes the balls..we have several sets.
The other problem aside from the ball getting stuck is that one of the things on top of the dinosaur broke off and the head does come off easily.
