Toys and Games Reviews of Fisher-Price Planet Heroes Turbo Shuttle

Customer Review: Son loves it, but can be dangerous
Summary: 4 Stars

My son turned 3 at the end of November, and I bought this as a gift for christmas. The toy is quite large but he absolutely loves it. the only downfall is that the flame that comes out at the end, pokes out pretty far and its semi pointy and hard plastic. He has already hit his face with it a couple of times. We were lucky that it wasn't in his eye. With the toy being so large, and my son being 3, when he holds the toy out with one hand, it tends to fall back into his face.

I Dont think that they were thinking this toy through when they made it so that the flame would come jetting out and spin. They could have made it so the flame lit up and spun inside instead of having to jet out. But other then that, its a good durable toy

Customer Review: reluctant fan of this toy
Summary: 4 Stars

I hated to be sucked into Fisher Price's manipulative scheme to market this toy. (Distribute free DVD and hook the kids so they beg unmercifully for it). This was at the top of my 4yo sons Christmas list so I reluctantly bought it. I was surprised though to discover it is a pretty well thought out toy. So far it seems sturdy and has lots of fun features; good engine noises, realistic exhaust, a handle to hold it while it "flys", removable shuttles for the action figures. (I do hate the theme song though. Ugh.) He got a couple of the action figures as well and they all seem interchangable. My son is getting hours of fun out of this and he is using the creative side of his brain so I guess that is what counts.

Customer Review: My 6-year-old loves it!!
Summary: 5 Stars

Santa brought this to my 6-year-old son, and he loves it. I thought it might be a bit "young" for him, but this and the Planet Heroes he received are his new favorites. As most of the other PH figures don't have batteries or make sounds (which I LOVE), the spaceship has enough sound effects and tricks to keep him happy. He loves to roll the detachable pods around like bumpercars while the figures battle. I see no safety issues as everything is rounded and the flames are soft if you bump them. My only problem is that it's 6 months until his birthday and he want the six other characters to finish his Planet Heroes collection.

Customer Review: Not for 3 year olds
Summary: 1 Stars

It was a gift to my 3 year old for his birthday and within 5 minutes out of the box my wife predicted it was not safe. Within another 10 minutes she was proven correct in exactly the way that she forewarned - just shear luck he didn't lose an eye.

(When a small kid holds the handle and pulls the trigger the rod that 'creates' the flame is about 3 or 4 inches from the eyes. If the child is running (and what else would you expect when playing with a spaceship) and trips ... . In my son's case it went straight up his nose - but it could equally well have gone into an eye.

Customer Review: This My Sons New Favorite Toy
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased this rocket ship and everyone of the figures for my sons fourth birthday and it still (two monthes later) is his very favorite toy set. The rocket ship is very cool and the flame effect awesome. The toys are tough- (they would have to be - he's a rough and tumble sort of boy) - and he plays and plays with them and takes atleast one figure every time we leave the house. I have bought a lot of toys that he loved for a few days and grew bored with - these are the exception and I highly recommend this set for imaginative little boys everywhere! Yeah Fisher Price!
