Toys and Games Reviews of Fisher-Price Musical Tea Set

Customer Review: Superb! A Wonderful Tea Set.
Summary: 5 Stars

My daughter was 18 months old when she got this for a gift. It has been a favorite of hers ever since and she's two and a half now.

This is just perfect for little fingers (and mom's fingers too)! The teapot holds enough water to fill four cups and the four cups are big enough to hold more than a drop of 'tea'. Yet they are small enough that a spill does not equal a disaster.

Everything fits onto a sturdy tray and my daughter seems to have no difficulty carrying the tray with everything on it. There is a cute creamer and sugar bowl and spoons that are just perfect for using.

The teapot plays I'm a little teapot when the button on top is pushed and makes cute tinkly sounds when the teapot is tipped to pour. It is a pleasant sound and not so loud that it annoys.

If you are like I am and look for gifts that encourage creative, imaginative play this teapot is perfect. If you look for toys that do more than blink or play music at a push of a button, this toy fits the bill. It is fairly quiet and easy to play with and fun.

Enjoy.

Customer Review: Cute but VERY disappointing - pretend use only
Summary: 1 Stars

After searching multiple stores for a cute, but not to girlie tea set, I was so excited to come across this one for my 2 1/2 year old. Very disappointed to open the box at home and find that all the cups have two small holes in them that cause them to leak if used right handed!

Called FP to find out that European regulations require that they have the holes to prevent children from sufficating themselves with the cups. This was NOT noted on the box - (after we saw the holes we re-read the box and re-looked at the pictures on it several times to make sure)in any way and was not evidant until the box was opened (and unreturnable).

Since we are pretty sure he won't sufficate himself with a tea cup (after all he does drink out of cups every day with no ill effect) we have continued to play with these making sure to fill cups only half way and holding them in our left hands so that the holes are on the back side of the cups! Still continuing to search for a tea set you can actually use that is suitable for a boy.

Customer Review: The Perfect Tea Set
Summary: 5 Stars

I searched all over for a tea set that my 2-year-old daughter could actually use. This one is wonderful! The set is sized just right -- the cups hold enough that she (and I) can actually drink out of them, the teapot holds enough to pour liquid into all four cups, the teapot is easy to pour, and the cups are easy to hold. To top is off, it's a really pretty set, has a very well designed, easy to use tray, and is made of super durable molded plastic! Not to mention then cream and sugar set, spoons you could actually use if you wanted to, and a very reasonable price.

I was concerned about the "pouring" noise making us crazy as it kept going off when I wrapped the gift, but found that in the course of normal play it's not bothersome. Just store the gift flat until it's unwrapped. My daughter found it really intriguing to unwrap a gift that was singing.

My daughter has a lot of fun playing with this toy and serving all her stuffed friends. It's on my gift list for all the little girls I know.

Customer Review: Very Cute
Summary: 4 Stars

The Fisher Price Tea Set is quite cute. I recently purchased it for my 2 year old niece, but I have not presented to her yet. It does say for 2+ years, but she is throwing her toys still so I'll wait a bit longer. I'm sure she will love it though. When her older sister was small I purchased an adorable tea set by Little Tikes. It was beautiful and made of the kind of plastic that seems more durable than this one is made of. I have read other customer reviews of the Fisher Price Tea Set and they all agree that this one is durable, we'll see. We did not save my older niece's tea set as we did not expect to have a new baby girl in the family and gave it away to another child. Little Tikes does make a newer style tea set now, but this one did have good reviews and it was a bit less money. I immediately removed the batteries as the tune was quite annoying as other customers have said. I do not think it will be missed. As long as my niece enjoys it when I finally give it to her I will be satisfied.

Customer Review: Simply the Best Tea Set Ever!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this tea set for my granddaughter when she was 18 months old. She loved it right away, and was excited to be able to "serve" tea to guests. A year later, she still plays with this toy daily. The tea set is very sturdy and colorful. It plays the song I'm a Little Teapot when the top of the teapot is pressed, and makes a tinkling noise as the teapot fills up the cups. The set consists of four plates (with different designs), four cups, a platter, teapot, creamer and sugar with lid - all the pieces for a complete set. I was skeptical about the song and pouring sound made by the teapot - I thought "this will never last" - but it has and it is the feature that most enchants a child. This set makes a great gift; it is always a hit and the price is very reasonable. (The teapot will not make noise when packed since it comes with a stopper that has to be removed before using & activating the sounds.) I would rate this as my all-round favorite toy for little ones.
