Customer Review: Great but WAY CHEAPER elsewhere

The Nativity set is completely adorable and a great, kid-friendly, hands-on Christmas decoration to teach little ones the Nativity story. My little man loves it...although he mostly loves running around with the pieces, but he'll appreciate it later! However, it's much cheaper at Walmart.com and Toys R Us.com. (Currently, $24.99 compared to Amazon.com's $47.99) From my searches, it looks like most of the Fisher Price items on Amazon.com are similarly over priced. I e-mailed Customer Service but they pretty much said to buy it elsewhere. Anyway, to sum it up: great toy but don't buy it here!Customer Review: BEWARE!

I recently ordered 4 of these sets as gifts this year. I got my daughter one last year from the FP catalogue and she loved it. However Amazon is selling different ones than in the catalogue. It comes in a generic white box. Not very attractive when you are giving it as a gift. Another difference is that there is no music and the star does not light up. The real ones in the cataloue are only 8.00 more so I am returning all four of these sets and buying them directly from FP. I feel like I have been tricked by amazon since they do not post a product description. Shame on you Amazon!

My granddaughter plays with this toy all year long. I keep it at my house and she asks for it from time to time. She gets out the people and asks me to play with her. I help her make up the story. One day we were having a "baby party" so the wisemen could bring their gifts. When it was time to serve the guests a meal the Pizza Angel came (from the top of the stable) and delivered the pizza to the guests. I was laughing so hard at how we were re-writing history. I didn't need all the lights and whistles. I didn't even know it came with lights and whistles in another version.Customer Review: Keeping the True Meaning of Christmas

I absolutely love this toy. I have five children ranging in age from 1 1/2 to 6 years old, and they love being able to play with a nativity set. It belongs to them, they set it up under the Christmas tree, and they know who each of the "Little People" are. They tell each other the story of Mary, Joseph, and Jesus. It's a wonderful learning tool. I wish I had one when I was little, instead of trying to sneak in playtime with my mother's ceramic set. I'd love to buy one for my children's schools. My recommendation is that you can't go wrong with such a fun, inspirational toy.Customer Review: Why does Amazon allow price gouging?

Spoke with Fisher Price this morning. The Deluxe Nativity Set is not rare and will be available in September 2008 in their catalogue. It is one thing for a business to try to make a few extra dollars on an item but to drastically overcharge is no better than pickpocketing. Yes, I have heard of buyer beware. Normally, I don't have a problem with Amazon, but there must be a way to monitor these price gougers. There are multiple dealers overcharging and falsely stating that these are discontinued or rare on other sites too. It is a wonderful product and I highly recommend it.
