Customer Review: Fun yet frustrating
Summary: 3 Stars
FUN: This is a great toy for rewarding a child's effort (cause and effect). The ferris wheel makes lively music and laughter when a child turns the crank or even barely spins the wheel. It has three lights at the base that light up as the wheel turns. If the area where the ticket taker stands is pushed down it makes more noise and laughter. My 2 1/2 year old daughter loved being able to see what she could do to make the noises. (I have to admit after about 5 minutes of listening to the music it started grating on my nerves -- there's no volume control other than an off button.)
FRUSTRATING: What was very frustrating for my daughter was that she couldn't get the people to sit properly in the seats. She would try but couldn't push them down far enough so when she would turn the wheel the people would fall out. We showed her how but she still had problems. She ended up having to bring the people to my husband or myself. After the initial noise-making thrill, she really wanted to play by taking the people in and out besides just whirling the wheel around.
Overall I think it's a good toy. It's well built, educational, and generally fun for the kids. I wish there was an easier way for the little ones to be able to put the people in their seats and they need a volume control.
