Toys and Games Reviews of Fisher-Price Little People Animal Sounds FarmCustomer Review: "Old" Version is Fantastic! Summary: 4 Stars
I got the "old" version of this, without the touch-and-feel animals, and my kids love it! Other than their wagon full of building blocks, this was their favorite gift at their one-year birthday. You just can't go wrong with Little People - chunky animals that are easy to hold and have zero little pieces or sharp corners to worry about. The animals have even held up well to all my kids chewing - I think a tiny bit of paint has come off the cow's nose, but really nowhere else - so I feel good they aren't ingesting things they shouldn't. The silo comes detached too easily, and I think we have had that stowed away in a closet almost since we got the toy. Based on other reviews, I'd probably not purchase it if I could only get one with "fuzzy" animals.
Customer Review: it does so much! Summary: 5 Stars
i love this toy. my son got it for his 1st birthday two months ago and has really enjoyed it. many reviewers are sad that it is no longer what it used to be when we were kids, but what is? the version that i got has neither the dvd nor the fur that other reviewers mention. the gates make different animal noises.
the plastic looks cheap but so far it has held and i think it has a lot of mileage left in it. the silo breaks off when my son crawls between the farm and the silo but otherwise stays put - and it is easy to pop back in.
aside from playing farm, this toy is a hit for playing peek-a-boo through all the openings and going around and around and around, and for "containering" (putting the animals back in the silo).
Customer Review: THANK YOU little people! Summary: 5 Stars
My daughter is 12 months old and has a TON of toys. This one is the ONLY toy that she has that entertains her for longer than 10 minutes - I might go as far as saying 15 minutes - and even after that time, she's still entertained, just wants somebody else to see her cow or sheep and what she does with them. She loves holding little objects and these people and animals fit perfectly in her tiny hands and she loves to place them in their little areas (pig in pig pen, sheep on the hay, etc.). The noises are fun, and educational, but not all of them sound like the animal noises we make for those animals but no big deal. She loves it, I love it. I'm on amazon right now looking for more little people things to add to her toy collection.
Customer Review: Junky Summary: 2 Stars
Fisher-Price toys are junk these days. My son does like it so I am glad I bought it, but this toy is definately not worth the money. The barn doors didn't make noises when they were opened. I didn't want to have the hassle of sending it back and getting a new one so I took the bottom off to see if I could fix it myself. The circuit board in it looked AWFUL. I don't know how those soldered connections passed quality control (if there is any quality control). I managed to super glue a bit of cardboard so the the switch would work. The only reason I am not fuming is because I got it off Toys r Us when they had buy one get one free on FP toys..and I had a $5 gift card.
Not impressed at all.
Customer Review: My son's favorite toy! Summary: 5 Stars
This my son's favorite toy! We picked it out as a replacement first birthday gift from his grandparents, since he had received a duplicate of the original gift. This farm is great! Apparently we have the "older" version with the plastic, not touch-and-feel, animals, which is perfect because he would totally eat the hair and fur. He can do whatever he wants with these and it doesn't matter. He loves to move the rooster back and forth; it crows on one side and plays "Old MacDonald Had a Farm" on the other. He opens the doors and puts the animals inside; he hasn't yet learned all the sounds but when you show him the cow he says "moo!" Great fun and much laughter. This is a huge winner at our house!
