First let me say that the review that says the recall for this toy was in 2006 is not correct. It was in 2002 [...] This link goes over the recall back in 2002. This product is not the one that contains lead paint. So if that is what is stopping you from getting this toy, don't let it.

- Great for crawlers to at least age 3
- Makes lots of fun sounds "oink" "neigh" and sings "Old McDonald"
- Comes with animals and farmers
- Durable
- Has lots of opening and closing pieces
- Keeps attention for hours
Cons
- Hair on animals (although my child who did put in mouth didn't get any off)
- Silo is not attached
- Swinging doors could come off
Overall
This is a great toy. I got it for my son when he was months old. I figured he was too young for it but put it out anyway. He LOVED it! He played with the animals and loved the sounds on the barn. When I babysit my nieces who are 18 months, 3 and 6 they also play with it. This toy is great for all ages and I would buy it again in a heart beat! You will get you monies worth out of this toy.

I bought this farm for my[...]twins for their 1st birthday. They were interested in it when they received it on their birthday, but really started playing with it everyday when they were about [...] old. I have the 2006 version without the touch and feel animals.
It is a fun toy and I appreciate that it has animal sounds, but there is also an on/off button for when they get to be a little annoying. Batteries last forever in this toy. I haven't had to change ours once in 7 months.
I have also had problems with the silo detaching from the barn. One of my twins figured out how to detach it on the day she received it and they often detach it while playing with it. I've reattached it loads of times and it doesn't seem to affect the durability of the toy, but it is a little annoying. My biggest annoyance is that even setting the sheep on his stand makes the 'baaa baaa' noise go off incessantly. Maybe I have a faulty model, but the sheep button is very touchy. (This is why the on/off button is a good thing.)
Overall, a good product that I think my girls will play with for a long time.

We purchased the Little People Animal sounds farm set for our oldest daughter's first birhtday, which was 3 years ago. We LOVE this fantastic toy! Lots of fun animal sounds, songs, and hours and hours of playtime fun. My oldest daughter has never tired of playing with this set, even after three years. She is now 4 years old and still spends lots of time every day playing with her farm set, and now her little sister, who is 1 year old is joining in on the playing and learning fun too! This toy is also unbelievably durable! It has been played with non stop, stood on, jumped off of (my daughter is a little dare-devil), and used so much and it is still (very surprisingly) in perfect shape - nothing has broken or come loose or anything! This is a toy that will last years and years for my 3 rambunctious kids and we also plan on saving this toy (and all of the little people toys they have,as they are all extremely durable and fantastic) for our grandkids one day! You will NOT regret purchasing this or any Little People toy! Hours and years of fun for all kids! Highly, highly reccommend!!!!!Customer Review: Touch and feels little people are awful

OK, I admit I don't own this model of the farm and I never will. Not as long as touch and feel animals are with it! We do own another version of the farm and love the farm itself.
What is Fisher Price thinking with the stupid touch and feel little people!?!? Don't they know babies and toddlers put these figures in their mouths! How on earth are you supposed to sanitize/clean one with fur on it?! I've heard of many parents putting the little people figures through the dishwasher to clean them and they hold up great. Well Fisher Price is putting an end to that with all the glorious new textures/materials they are adding to a toy kids suck on.
We own just about every little people toy put out in the past 6-7years and I won't be buying anymore if they keep changing them to the touch and feel. They are taking the great as it was little people line in a bad new direction.
I recommend looking around for an previous version of the farm. Or at last resort, getting this one and chucking the touch and feels and acquiring the regular animals where and when you can.

"Animal House?" That's what my 2.5 year old asked when I showed him this toy. I said, yes, and they call it a "barn!" Well, the next time I said animal house, he corrected me, "no, barn!"
There is something wholesome about farm toys, and our older son cannot get enough of 'em, so this toy was an instant hit. Our younger son is 8 months, so I bought this with him in mind as well, thinking our older son would outgrow this toy pretty soon. But for now, he's really into this toy and animals in general.
One nice thing is we live on the edge of the city, so we can actually point out barns and farm animals on weekend drives.
The toy itself is just fine for the money. I think FP must have dropped the fake fur, cuz I just bought this and there was no fur. Five animals + farmer and all have a sound except the goat. It's a simple, compact toy which is what I was looking for. I was able to find a cheaper at a local retailer vs. Amazon (sorry guys, but I give you plenty of business so I'm not feeling at all guilty, just honest)!
