Toys and Games Reviews of Fisher Price Learning HomeCustomer Review: Great toy for child that loves doors!! Summary: 5 Stars
My son loves doors!!! I asked my Dad to get this toy for his Christmas present (he was 1 year old then). I knew he would play with it, but I didn't know he much he would love it! He's now 1-1/2 yrs old and still loves to play with it all the time, more than once a day and up to an hour at a time. He even drags riding toys through the door to take them in "his house". I have more photos and movies around this toy than any other one.
Note about the screws: They were in a small bag, taped inside the box so they weren't easily seen. I called Fisher Price to get a new bag. They told me they were back ordered because people didn't know where to look. Easy enough to put together, but have a long THIN screw driver if you want all the screws in.
If your child loves to play with doors, then they will love this toy. The price now is about $5 less than Christmas 2005, so it's a great deal. I haven't seen too many stores carrying this toy, either. Is a great toy to have when you are trying to make dinner and don't want to worry about baby getting hurt.
Customer Review: Great learning toy at a very reasonable price. Summary: 4 Stars
We have a little boy that loves to climb through things. We gave our boys this toy and they just love it. They climb all over it.
They are 10 months and they are just starting to learn cause and effect and this toy will really help with.
There is so many activities. There is several settings that you can choose between.
We were so happy when we saw there was three pieces of mail. One for each of our boys.
They love that there is so many toys that they can walk around with. There are balls, mail, a key and shapes.
The balls can be placed in the door or they can be put down the drain to count. The shapes are great because there is two places to put them. They can put them in the shape sorter door or they can place them in the houses wall.
My boys love opening and closing the door.
They have not explored everything yet because there is so many things. You can see their little faces light up when they discover something new.
Great learning toy at a very reasonable price.
Customer Review: Not Much Fun if it Doesn't Work Summary: 3 Stars
I bought this toy for my daughter when she was 10 months old and it was her absolute favorite. She loved the music and playing with all the different features. I was so happy to find a toy that she didn't grow tired of and could enjoy for years to come. But only a few months after bringing it home it started to go haywire. I was able to bring it back to life with numerous battery changes but it finally went out entirely. My daughter loved this toy so it is very disappointing.
Other complaints is that the flower by the window makes it hard to open and shut the window. I removed the flower but be careful if you do so since the bee attachment is a choking hazard.
Also, the circular sun/moon feature at the top of the house would often pinch my daughters fingers when she played with it.
And finally, when I first bought the house and had it nearly completed I discovered that it was missing the second half of the gutter.
Despite all the mishaps my daughter really did enjoy this toy so I gave it 3 stars.
Customer Review: The Best Toy We've Bought! Summary: 5 Stars
UpDate: STILL OUR FAVORITE TOY PURCHASE! Our children are now 20 months old and 9 months old. They both love the house! Our 20 month old continues to play with it after almost a year and our 9 mo. old loves it.
The really great thing about this toy is that it is fun to play with alone or together. It is the one toy that my kids play with together consistently. One will be on the "inside" and the other on the "outside". They can both play with the door, doorbell, window and mailbox together. It is great fun for them!
Original Review: This is the best toy we've bought for our daughter yet. She is 14 months old. It is the only toy that she plays with day in and day out. It has so many different activities, different songs- it keeps her occupied by the hour! I was initially not going to buy it because it was more money than we would usually spend on a toy but I am so glad I changed my mind- it is soooo worth the money! Every child that has come to our house from baby to six years old has loved this house and played with it.
Customer Review: Every child should have one, Summary: 5 Stars
This home should be in every home with a young child in my opinion. I received this as a shower gift and I am so appreciative. There are just endless activities with this house! Fisher Price has definately created a winner in my opinion. I put it together and set it out in the living room when my son was 6 months. He is discovering new things to do on the house as he grows and develops. We put him on the other side of the door from us to encourage him to crawl through. He likes to hold on to the house in the attempt to stand. It has not tipped over yet so I feel that it has some stability to it. He gets a kick out of the door bell and radio and I also love showing him the light switch. The coolest thing in my opinion is how the house responds in music and scripted conversation to doors and windows being opened, etc. Nice cause and effect. I just put the Superyard by North State around it and my son can entertain himself long enough for me to get some things done around the house. Get it; you will not be disappointed and neither will your child.
