Toys and Games Reviews of Fisher Price Learning HomeCustomer Review: Worth every penny! But hard to put together. Summary: 4 Stars
I purchased this for my 1 year old as a birthday gift from the ToysRUs store. There is alot of assembly with this item and you can't use an electic drill on some of the holes due to the depth of the hole unless you have a really long bit on your drill. Never the less, worth every penny and every minute it took to put together. It is as tall as my 1 year old and over 1 foot deep but when you store it up against a wall it doesn't take up alot of space. Both my 1 year old and my 3 year old LOVE IT! There are so many things to do, they are able to play together or seperatly. I can not say enough good things about it. The music is cute and they love going through the door. It has everything they need for imaginary play (great for my 3 yr old) and alot of gadgets for hand and eye cordination and cause and effect (great for my 1 yr old). It also addresses number recognition. I do have a problem with the flower on the front of the house. It catches on the window when you open and close it but they have learned how to move the flower out of the way. I should try bending the flower stem away from the window. Great toy over all.
Customer Review: THE BEST EDUCATIONAL FUN TOY AROUND! Summary: 5 Stars
This was a Christmas gift for our son who was eight months old at the time. He has loved it from the minute he saw it Christmas Eve. It wasn't that difficult to put together, but I would recommend two people tackle this project. But in the end it is all worth it. My son has discovered so many different things about this house. He loves to open the door when it is in music mode and dance, he just loves music and the music that the house makes is absolutely great. When it is in the educational mode he finds great pleasure in the voices when he does the different activities. This toy is worth the money spent on it. I can see this lasting for a very long time, our son may play with it for longer than the 3 years recommended, we have a fifteen year old daughter whom also enjoys this toy! I would recommend this to anyone with a baby. It is also very sturdy, our son learned to pull himself up on the door, now he uses the side as he is taller. But he stands on the dog dish and puppy seat as well as the gutter puddle as we call it and it has stood up to the abuse quite well. This toy is loads of fun for the whole family without a doubt.
Customer Review: A MUST-HAVE !!! Summary: 5 Stars
If you are anything like me, you are tired of buying toys that your child gets tired of or not age appropriate, or barely gets played with for one reason or another. BUT--If there ever was the perfect toy that could grow with your child and actually teach him/her useful skills daily, this is it. I bought this for my son for Christmas (he was 71/2 months then) and he has played with it EVERY DAY! I find that he learns to do a new feature about every week or two. He immediately knew how to spin the wheel-type toy. So don't worry if he/she will have to learn to play with this toy. Toys start simple then gradually move them up. He started turned the light switch on and off and now wants to turn real light switches on and off whenever we walk by one. He also does the same to door knobs. Every child (regardless of age) that comes over spends the majority of time playing with the Learning Home. I can't wait for my guy to be able to stand and discover several more features. I'm telling ya that this toy is worth it's weight in gold. A must-have. Very reasonably priced, especially for the amount of use. Hope this helps.
Customer Review: Great for a 6 Month Old Summary: 4 Stars
We bought our learning home for our 6 month old boy for Christmas. Putting it together was a task as the SCREWS WERE TAPED TO THE INSIDE of the box, we looked for them for an hour on Christmas night before we saw them. No-where in the manual does it say where the screws are. I was relieved when I found them, but was ready to just give up, but as it was Christmas I was eager to put it together or I might not have notived them taped way down on the inside of the box. This was probably the most aggrivating thing about the toy. He loves it though and it is very durable with a 6 month old, HOWEVER my 14 month old niece does come visit and it likes to be unstable with her. and she weighs around a petite 23 lbs for a 14 month old. So I am always cautious when they are playing, My son is already trying to pull up at 6 months so I am very weary of this being that sturdy for him to do so, but so far has been okay with him. It does say the most cutest things and is very educational in my opinion. It teaches cause and effect very well, as well as opposites, songs, and basic things and actions around the home.
Customer Review: The Best Toy We Have Summary: 5 Stars
When my daughter was about 9 months old she had gotten bored with all of her toys. She needed something much more challenging. We saw this toy and thought maybe it was a little bit large, but decided to give it a try.
At first we worried we'd purchased yet another wasted toy as my daughter only seemed interested in the shapes and balls. But, after the first day or two, she really starting playing with it and has never stopped! Now, at almost a year old, she STILL plays with this toy EVERY day. As a matter of fact, I can hear one of the songs now.
Almost every activity has sounds or lights associated with it -yet it isn't the least bit irritating! The radio has lots of fun songs and my daughter just dances and dances. We love the mailbox - we're always telling my daughter to "Go get your mail" which she rushes to do. Plus, she's quickly learned how many other toys fit inside the mailbox! Of course, there's the shape sorter, the door, the window, etc. The variety is great. We've happily made this toy part of our living room decor so it's available all the time!
