Toys and Games Reviews of Fisher Price Learning Home

Customer Review: Hours of fun every day
Summary: 5 Stars

When my son became less interested in being confined by his exersaucer and jumperoo (both items I highly recommend for 3-8 month olds) I was beside myself to find a new toy that could provide a similar amount of entertainment so I could get a few things done during the day. After a lot of research I decied to try the learning home. Personally it didn't seem like something he would love but I decided to trust the reviews. I can't believe how right they were. When we got it, he loved it but only understood how to play with some of its features. 4 months later he now understands how to play with most of its features and it STILL occupies him off and on for about 3 hours every single day. Lately he has used other toys to interact with it as well- seeing how many toys can fit down the water gutter, in the mailbox, etc. His cousins all love it and want one, too. Last month we went out of town and were immediately asked by family if they could borrow it while we were gone. :) It has probably been our greatest baby toy investment in terms of amount of play time per dollars spent. My son is very active and has never come close to pushing the toy over like some review have mentioned (what ARE their kids doing to it???) I highly recommend this toy to anyone.

Customer Review: A must have!
Summary: 5 Stars

This toy is the greatest. We have an active 1 year old crawler and have an appointment in a couple of weeks to get our kitchen cabinets childproofed (our play room opens into the kitchen). I was spending all day pulling my daughter away from the kitchen cabinets, in spite of the MANY toys she has.....that is until we purchased this toy for her birthday. This is the very first toy she goes to in her play room. And she just plays and plays with it. And if I get down and play with her, she will play even longer with it. We have only had it for about a week so far, but I have not had to chase her away from the kitchen cabinets even once! She really likes everything on the play house, but her favorites are probably checking the mailbox, opening and closing the door, and pulling the blocks out of the "roof" area. In fact, the day she got this house was the first time she stood without holding onto something or leaning against something for balance. She pulled up and took two of the blocks out of the "roof" and stood all by herself, banging them together. This play house is well worth the money. Although I will say that you can get it cheaper at various stores rather than paying the over $100 it is listed for on Amazon.

Customer Review: My 15 month old was hurt by this toy!!!!! Please read!
Summary: 1 Stars

My son got this for his first birthday. He really enjoyed it and overall it seems like a fabulous toy, BUT yesterday (at almost 16 months) he was playing by the mailbox and stood up and his foot went onto the rolling toy under the mailbox and he slipped and fell backward VERY HARD onto his back and head. Imagine slipping on a rolling pin. It scared me so bad and I'm the type of mother who usually says, "oh get up you're fine" when my boys fall. He was screaming and later that night had a bruise on his shoulder blade. I called the doctor after it happened and was told to observe him and not put him down for a nap for 2 hours. Luckily we have carpet and I had it in the middle of our living room. Had it have been another foot, foot and a 1/2, over he'd have fallen and hit his head on our entertainment center. I will be calling Fisher Price on Monday to find out how to exchange this product for the kitchen. It was a gift and I called the giver but it's been 4 months since they bought it and they no longer have the receipt. I hope they are a respectful enough company to exchange it. Please purchase the Laugh and Learn Kitchen instead or keep this far from furniture and watch your child closely.

Customer Review: Great Toy to Grow With
Summary: 5 Stars

I suggested this toy to my mom to get our baby for Christmas. He was 8 months old when we got it home and assembled it. Assembly was EASY, especially if you follow the VERY simple and detailed instructions. My husband read the directions to me while I did the steps, but we both used our own screwdrivers to speed that process, since there are a lot of screws. We were giddy to put it together as soon as we got home, even before unpacking! Ha! We had a ball playing with it ourselves while our son was asleep that first night and have proudly showed it off to friends who think it's cool, too. Of course, our baby loved it from the beginning and still loves it a month later. I rejoice with him as he discovers new things to do and learns how to do them himself (oh wow, what a miraculous blessing children are)! I am sure this will be a great staple of our toy collection through all the kids to come. I even imagine it would be fun to use when playing house or making a kids-only fort even after the 3-year age label! And when we're done, it will be an awesome donation for our church nursery or day care center because Fisher Price makes such sturdy toys. No complaints. 2 thumbs up!

Customer Review: A must have! Worth every penny!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

Like many of the other parents I was worried about buying this toy for my 1 year old, considering that it's usually the cheapest and most simple things that seem to keep her occupied and happy for hours...Why buy a big expensive toy that may or may not be fun for her? I took the advice of those of you who shared your reviews and got it for her first B-day. This toy is the BEST!!! Thank you!!!

She loves it and I love it! I am very impressed with the quality! The sounds and music are wonderful! There is so much to do and to learn. She loves to play with it on her own, and it's a great toy to play with your child as well. Some of the things we do together is I will put the mail in the mail box and say "You've got mail" She gets excited and opens the mail box with a big SMILE and brings it over to me to read. Every time I make up a new story, she loves it! We practice putting the shapes in the door and in the right spots at the top of the house. She loves to crawl through the door way and play peek-a-boo by opening and closing the door. I am running out of room for this review so I will just say that everything about this toy is GREAT!!!
