Toys and Games Reviews of Fisher Price Learning Home

Customer Review: Hours and Hours of fun for my little boy
Summary: 5 Stars

I just wanted to say that this toy wound up being better than I had initially thought it would be. My 14 month old son got it as a present from Santa and played with it all weekend. My daughter (who is 9) played with it with her little brother and it kept both of them occupied for quite some time. He loves to play peak-a-boo though the window. Although after using the light switch, he now wants to play with all the light switches in the house, but regardless of the toy or not, that was just a matter of time. My son loves music and all the sounds and songs are great. He would start dancing when a song came on, and he had a huge smile on his face.

I must say that my husband and I are very cautious when it comes to toys for our kids. And we read all of the other comments from parent regarding this toy, and we were very please to learn that many parents out there really though highly of this toy. Now having owned it, albeit for a little while, I would recommend it to anyone who is looking to purchase a bigger toy that will keep their little one(s) entertained for quite some time. Just make sure that you don't mind music, and talking because this toy definitely make quite a number of different sounds. Which in my opinion, is great, that is what kids like and what keeps them entertained. Great Job Fisher Price;-)

Customer Review: hazard for younger babies
Summary: 2 Stars

I purchased this toy at Babies-R-Us earlier this month. It was a fun toy until I noticed my daughter had been licking the top part. It's the sticker part that has the alphabet on it. She is only 8 months old and still puts everything in her mouth. She just started standing a month ago so she is perfect height to reach this area of the toy. I noticed the sticker starting to come off when I went to clean the toy. It looks like a sticker but it's really a thin piece of cardboard material covered with a glossy finish. I called fisher price and they said it is not toxic for her, even though i dont think she actually ingested any of it. I also called babies-r-us and they let me exchanged it for a new one. I guess I'll just have keep a closer eye on her when she's playing with it. It is a great toy to keep her entertained in her gated play yard. Fisher Price also offers to ship a new one but it can take 4-6 weeks. I hope they do something about this because otherwise I'd say it's a great toy for sitters and crawlers. Oh, and I was a little disappointed that it takes so long to set up. The directions are very easy to follow, there's just a lot of screws to it. I'd say I spent a good 30-45 minutes just screwing the home together. At almost 75 bucks there shouldn't have this many problems that people are concerned about!

Customer Review: Laugh and Learn Learning Home - a hit at our home!
Summary: 5 Stars

I don't usually take the time to write reviews on toys, but for this one I just had to. My daughter received this at her 1 year birthday party. Not only could she not keep her hands off it, but the older children at the party (3 years+) played with it as well!

For this price, it seems like you get several toys all wrapped into one. There is a shape sorter that lets you sort shapes not just in one place, but two. The doorbell rings and the doors and window opens (upon close, it plays How Much Is That Doggie In the Window), setting off different sounds and songs. The lights by the door turn on and off, also to music.

Songs can be selected based on counting, ABCs, etc. There are balls that can be dropped and rolled down a slide. There is a clock with moving hands to set the time. The house numbers spin around. The sun at the top is on a wheel that spins to change to the moon.

I just couldn't believe how much there was to do on this one toy!

I haven't seen a toy in a long time that captured as much attention as this one, for this price. I can imagine that my children will play with this one for a while. I am so pleased with this toy, this will be replacing several others that are cluttering up my living room. Way to go Fisher Price!

Customer Review: Honest Review
Summary: 5 Stars

Not that the others aren't, but the ones I skimmed, I didn't see some things that I feel are very important.

Most important point: This toy comes 90% unassembled, it takes 32 screws to put it together. Be sure you have an electric screwdriver handy to assemble it!

That aside, it is a fantastic toy, and though it was tedious to put together, the directions are simple to follow and the pieces fit together easily. I just wish I'd had my cordless drill/driver charged up instead of having to do it all manually. ;)

I have no real complaints about this toy, though I do think the "stool" is a pretty useless part on it. . .it's not very convenient. If I had to make other points for improvement, it's not very tall and the porchlight could stay on longer than it does. However, my son sits on the floor (because like I said, that stool is useless) and plays with it just fine. It does bother him slightly that the light shuts off almost immediately after being turned on, he tends to stop what he's doing and go over to turn it on again. Other than that, the educational value of the toy makes up for the few things I didn't really like about it. It is something I would recommend to others (obviously!), but it could use a bit of tweaking to be "the perfect toy".

Customer Review: All About the Baby!
Summary: 5 Stars

This toy is all about the baby! I bought this toy for my daughter Breathe when she was 7 months old. I honestly thought that it would be a few months still before she really began to like it.

I was wrong.

From the time the toy was put together, Breathe has loved it. She is now one year old and she STILL plays with it and is discovering new things about it. Now that she can stand longer, she absolutely LOVES the moon/sun rolley thing and has just figured out the numbers on the house roll too. She will roll them and look at me and bust out laughing -- and this is 5 MONTHS after she's seen the toy every single day. Although she doesn't really play with the "inside" part of the house -- she likes the side with the mailbox and window and moon/sun thing -- I am incredibly impressed with it, and how it has held her attention for so long. She'll push the door open, just to close it and when the music stops at her command - she laughs. Great toy for cause and effect. And the best part -- she'll like it when she's two and three too, I know, simply because there's a whole other side for her to discover!!!

In short, I haven't found one single thing wrong with this toy and I am SOOOOOOOO thankful, every single day, that I invested in it!! Buy it!!!
