Toys and Games Reviews of Fisher Price Learning Home

Customer Review: Good toy but takes alot of space if you live in a small apartment.
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought this for my 1 year old son and 2 year old daughter. I have bought my kids many toys and this is one of the few toys that they cant get enough of! when I had my sons first birthday their cousins that are 4 and 6 years old loved it! I had some doubts before I bought it because I have bought them so many toys that have just been long forgotten, this one is not one of those, The toy is average when it comes to durability because some of the pieces of mail are already getting bent, and some of the stickers have rubbed off, but have seen my 27 pound daughter sitting on the door, so it is pretty strong, and for heavy use it doesn't look too bad.My son wasn't too interested in it until about 11 months, and my daughter plays with it everyday, and is learning words all the time from it. the music and sayings can get annoying but you can also turn the sound down, also the other laugh and learn products keeps this toy from becoming old. they have a phone you can buy, a puppy, and a bird bath we have all of those and the variety of them makes this toy interesting. if I had to buy this toy again I would do it in a heart beat and have recommended it to many of my friends, the only down side is if you live in an apartment it does take bit of space, but what toy doesn't? the fact they play with it everyday really is great and it can fit against a wall so when it isn't in use to save space.

Customer Review: Long-Lasting Toy for Your Children
Summary: 5 Stars

We have 4 children. We bought the Fisher Price Learning Home when our first-born was almost two years old. She loved it. She couldn't stop flipping the switches, moving the clock, closing and opening the window, dancing and clapping to the music, and of course, crawling through the door. I was surprised when my older niece (age 4) seemingly enjoyed it just as much. Three children later, and this toy still sits in our front room and gets lots of play. Nowadays, the then 4-year-old and now 8-year-old, does not play with it. But, every now and then the 5-and-3-year-olds do. And But, 1-year-old plays with it every day. And, it's one of the go-to toys that all little ones gravitate to when my friends come over with their kids. What's great is that it's truly a grow-with-me toy. Children who can sit up enjoy it just as much as one that can stand/cruise and then walk.

Since it's tall and narrow, it's hardly takes up any space (a plus in our small house). The volume control is an added plus and I'd say it's pretty durable after mentioning all the play it's gotten. I'll actually be sad to see it go when it's time -- knowing all the children who have loved playing with it. Six years later and this toy is one of the oldest and last big ones standing. I fully expect to be able to donate it to another loving home or preschool knowing it has lots of life (and love) to give.

Customer Review: My son's favorite!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this house a year ago for Christmas. And I must say, for the tons of toys my children (now 2 and 3 1/2 years old) got, this is they only one they still play with EVERY day! I have it blocked off for part of every day, but the minute I uncover it, my son zips through the door and presses the radio!

I love this house for the variety of toys it offers! On the "outside", it has address numbers that count, a mailbox, a rain gutter that also counts when you drop in the included balls, and a sun/ moon wheel that changes sayings. Inside is a radio that plays 4 songs, a window that opens and closes, a light switch that turns on the lamp, a toy clock, and a shape sorter. The toys change for both musical/ play and educational.

I am impressed with everything this house can do! It counts, teaches opposites, and sings songs. It has incredibly cute sound effects and quotes (including "see ya later, alligator" as you close the door). The sound is great - I love volume control!

All in all, this is a wonderful toy. Every child I've ever seen who has gotten it just loves it, and every time there's company, children are all over it. The only thing I'd like to note is that it sells for apprx. $65 in the store, so do not buy from outside vendors here.

Hope my review influences you! It's the best toy purchase I've ever made!!

Customer Review: The best toy purchase we've EVER made!
Summary: 5 Stars

This was by far the best toy purchase we've ever made for my son and he's 3 now. We purchased this house when he was 6 months old and he fell in love with it. He loved opening and shutting the door and we loved that it would say "open" and "closed" when he would, so that he would know the difference in open and closed. The little chimney on the side counts the balls as the child drops them in, and the shape sorter is great for motor skills, just like any shape sorter. The fact that the door has a key and the child can turn it, is just wonderful. The light turns on and off with an over-sized real looking light switch and of course it tells the child "on" and "off." The folks at Fisher Price have outdone themselves with this toy. My 3 year old would still play with this if we didn't have it put away. We purchased the Step 2 Doorway Play house for him for Christmas because it is kind of like this little house, but for 1 and up, I think. We sadly, put the learning home in the attic after Christmas, but my son would still play with it if we had room for it. I recommend this little house to every one with a baby. My best friend just purchased one for her 6 month old because I told her she had to get one and that her baby would love it and of course, she does=) If you haven't ordered this yet, what are you waiting for? It will be your child's favorite toy for sure.

Customer Review: Best Gift From Babie's First Christmas!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is much cuter than I thought even from the pictures. Easy to put together, and very substantial. VERY IMPRESSED!!! My daughter got this from her Nana (my mother) for Christmas. I wasn't sure if she would be all that interested in it immediately as she was only 7 months old, but even on Christmas day, she was interested in the noises it made when my husband and I were (having way too much fun for adults) playing with it with her. She now (at 9 months) crawls across the room to it, and starts playing with it by herself. She, obviously hasn't figured everything out (she doesn't open the mail box or the window yet) but giggles when she opens and closes the door and it talks (or sings) to her depending on the mode it is set to. I like the fact that it has a louder/quieter volume control. When we're all doing our housework during the weekend, I put the volume up to the louder setting, and it keeps her attention. On the same token, if it is quieter in the house, I can lower the volume so the noise isn't overbearing. She recently discovered if you push the purple button (the doorbell) it makes noise. Three different bells and comments to be exact (in the abc mode) but when she pushes it repeatedly for 10 minutes, having a low volume keeps mommy and daddy sane!!! I can't wait to see what she discovers next! I don't know who loves this toy more...her or us!
