Toys and Games Reviews of Fisher Price - Laugh & Learn? Stride-to-Ride Learning Walker?Customer Review: Great Toy Summary: 5 Stars
My son has gone through stages with this toy and as I write this I can say its probably his favorite. (He is 13 months)
At first, he was not interesting in walking with it, but he was obsessed with opening the hood of the car and playing with the shapes inside. More recently, he has gotten very into the control panel and the radio and is using it to walk. I tend to get irritated with toy music, but this one is not too bad (albeit a little loud for me, but not horrible). It has a nice variety of tunes and isn't too repitious. My son loves the songs and gets pretty into it.
As far as the walker aspect to it, I will say that at first you will have to assist your child so he or she doesn't fall flat on his face. Once he or she gets a hang of it, there isn't much concern at all.
I also like that once the walker aspect of it not interesting anymore, it can be turned into a little rider as well.
I highly recommend this toy!
Customer Review: Great for kids over 12 months Summary: 5 Stars
We visited family out of town last year and my son would not leave this toy alone the whole time we were there. We came home and bought him one. He was already over a year old and walking, so we never have used the "walker" feature on this. He will be two years old in a couple of weeks, and he still loves this toy. He'll load up all his toy cars under the "hood" and take off for a ride around the house. We even take it camping with us (we camp a lot) and he will scoot around the camp ground on this while the older kids ride their bikes.
The only problem we had was when we first opened it up and put batteries in it. The lights and sounds did not work. After fiddling with it for a while (hoping I wouldn't have to return it), I found a loose wire connection to the battery compartment. Once I fixed the connection, it has worked great.
This is the best purchase we have ever made and I highly recommend this toy.
Customer Review: GREAT FOR LITTLE MOVERS! Summary: 5 Stars
My son got this toy when he was turning 9 months old, and could not yet crawl or stand. (He learned both over the next month). At first he liked the music and lights, even though it gets a bit annoying for adults. By the time he was 10 months, he could push all the buttons, turn the wheel, and open/close the front (this is his favorite). When he figured out all the fun stuff, he could really be truly entertained. He then learned how to pull himself up when the car is in its "walking" position. This is where it's a bit scary for me as a mom, b/c the car would fly out from under him due to his lack of stability. Just recently, he learned how to push it around on his knees (half-crawling, somewhat walking). This toy is only unsafe if you let it be unsafe (as a parent), and I think it's been wonderful to introduce the concept of walking/riding. It has been used and loved for about 3 months now, and I think it's going to continue!
Customer Review: My son LOVES this toy!! Summary: 5 Stars
My son, Matty, is 11 months old and we just got this for him the other day. He has been playing with it non-stop and LOVES all the fun stuff on it. The "dashboard" has enough stuff to keep even the busiest hands occupied and when he's done with that, he finds the shape sorter on the front and thinks it's a brand new toy again! He dances and claps his hands to all the songs and actually giggles while he's playing with it! He just figured out how to walk behind it today and it'll be quite some time before he can ride on it by himself, but that only means he'll get lots of use out of it.
I haven't has any of the problems other reviewers have reported. It was very easy to put together. No tools needed and it's very sturdy. I don't find it annoying at all and it keeps my son happy, so that makes it a winner in my book! (I will say, though, that they're MUCH cheaper at Wal-Mart than they are on here!)
Customer Review: Great walker for our 1 year old Summary: 4 Stars
I had wanted this walker for our daughter as soon as I saw it, as other walkers looked boring and dull. I love how much she interacts with the car. Her favorite thing to do is turn the wheel and push it around. Although I do agree that it can move quickly, and your child could get hurt I guess, but I'm sure that wouldn't happen if your baby was closly supervised. You child shouldn't even have this toy until they are standing well, cruising well, and just starting to toddle around. This toy works great for my daughter, and I love it. The music does get monotonous sometimes, but it's still entertaining her, so I'm glad for it. I love the shape sorter in the front. I have a shape sorting block toy for her, but it wasn't until I got the car that she figured it out. Maybe it's because it's color coded according to the shapes. All in all, I'd recommend this product for the advanced cruiser.
