Toys and Games Reviews of Fisher-Price Kid-Tough Digital Camera Pink [Amazon Frustration-Free Packaging]Customer Review: Its OK--thats it! Summary: 3 Stars
I got this camera for my daughter for Christmas because she always wants to play with my Canon. So I thought it would be really cool to get her her own camera. She loved it. Its a good size and the buttons are nice and big. It is overall, user friendly. However, there is problem with the flash. Its automatic. Whenever she takes a photo, the image is overexposed. I notice that she plays with it less and less because of it. We have not test it outdoors yet, but I am hoping that those images will be better than the indoor images.
I would not recommend this camera to friends or family because its does not produce pictures with any resemblance of any image. (At least not for indoor use anyway).
Customer Review: Fun camera Summary: 4 Stars
My 3 1/2 year old got this for Christmas. She loves taking pictures with my camera, so I thought it would be perfect. She really does love it. It is very durable, as it's already been dropped several times. She likes that she can view and delete her own pictures. There are a couple of downsides. The button you push to actually take the picture is pretty hard for her to push. If she were any younger, I don't think she could push it. Also, I wish the LCD screen was a little bigger. I'm sure that would increase the cost of the product, though. The image is also fairly blurry, but about what one should expect for a 2 Mega Pixel camera. Overall, it keeps her grubby hands off of my camera, so I love it!!!
Customer Review: Clearly not child tested... Summary: 2 Stars
My 4-year-old daughter was so excited to get this camera and try it out, unfortunately there is one huge problem. She can barely push the button to snap a picture. It is poorly positioned, too small for tiny hands, and requires a great deal of precise strength--all very frustrating for a preschooler. She has to focus on pushing the button so hard, that she can't even frame the shot, which basically defeats the purpose of the camera. We have a lot of great shots of the ceiling.
The resolution is not great, but I also realize that it's a toy and is not going to be comparable to regular digital cameras, but I expected a little better. Overall a big disappointment.
Customer Review: So sad, especially for the kids Summary: 1 Stars
We received this as a gift for our 5 year old. We popped the batteries in, and after 40 pictures, the batteries were dead. It would power on, but then shut off. We replaced the batteries, and once again, the same thing happened. The picture quality is SEVERELY poor. Camera phones you get for FREE have better quality. It's sad to see that in this day and age, Fisher Price is using technology from over 10 years ago, and charging an arm and a leg for it.
I would NOT recommend this camera to anyone, and I feel so bad that we have to ask the wonderful person that bought it for us, for the receipt so we can get something for our daughter that actually works.
Customer Review: Great idea but no battery life Summary: 2 Stars
We bought two cameras (pink and blue) for our kids and they were a big hit until we went to visit family and when they went to take pictures the batteries were dead. They'd only used them for 20 minutes on Christmas morning. I wished I'd read the reviews here before buying the cameras because I would've gone with the vTech model instead. My friend got the vTech for her daughter and she loves it and used it all day and she still hasn't replaced the batteries. I'll be returning these to the store where I bought them! Don't waste your money. I love the idea of a kid-friendly camera, but if it's only going to last 20 minutes, it's not so kid-friendly, but kid-frustrating!
