Customer Review: Needs a little work, but good deal overall

We bought this for our almost 3 year old son for Christmas. Some of the reveiws by others seem so unfair. Yeah, picture quality isn't great, but who expects great picture quality from a child's digital camera? You get what you pay for. I knew I was getting a basic camera that would teach my son how to use one. His interest isn't too high yet, but that will come with age. He learned how to use the buttons on the back within two days. The only drawback is the button to actually take pictures on the front is too small and hard for his pointer finger to press. A larger, faster click button would be better. Other than that, he can drop it without hurting it and likes the blue color.Customer Review: Vtech kidizoom is way better

I got this as a gift and within a day it was not functioning properly. I had to keep taking the batteries in and out to get the camera to turn on. I went online and saw that the reviews for the vtech were better and purchased one to see for myself. Vtech is awesome compared to the Fisher price camera. The camera is easier for a kid to hold and the button to take the picture is much larger and easier for a kid to press.
The Vtech also has way more feature and functionality including recording movies. Picture also seems better, but then again I'm not too concerned about the picture since this is a toy. I'd recommend this from an ease of use standpoint for the kid.

terribly unimpressed with the product. The only button my 3yo knows how to work really well is the delete button on the bottom right. It's the button that is easiest to find and to push. That is where the shutter button should be. I don't think they tested this well.
Also - the shutter button is on the front of the camera where it is hard to find and push. I think we have a defective camera because it is difficult to take a picture. Probably going to have to return it.
I would call this one a loser until they redesign the button functions and increase the photo quality. For the price, they could easily supply it with a 3mp camera.

I got this when my son was 3 because he was always wanting to use my digital camera, and he's very active and hard on toys. This camera really is indestructable, as far as we've tested. It's nice because I don't have to worry about it at all. The pictures are nothing to write home about - resolution is so low that you can barely make out what most of them are. I've downloaded a couple hundred shots and saved maybe 3 or 4. My only complaints would be that it burns through 4 AAA batteries pretty quickly, and that the screen resolution (and picture resolution) are really poor (much worse than your cellphone). But, my kid enjoys it and it's very sturdy.Customer Review: Say Cheeeeese!

Fisher-Price Kid-Tough Waterproof Digital Camera Blue
I couldn't wait to give this to my grandson for his third birthday. I was pretty sure he would love it, and neither of us was disappointed. He took over 200 pictures in less than a day and came back for more. The toy is as sturdy as advertised and loads of fun, grainy images notwithstanding.
My grandson's birthday is New Year's Eve, following on all the excesses of Christmas and Hannukah. Among the overabundance of toys he received in December, this one is surely a keeper.
