Toys and Games Reviews of Fisher-Price Kid - Tough Digital Camera Blue [Amazon Frustration - Free Packaging]Customer Review: Great purchase!!! Summary: 5 Stars
With a working flash, a double view finder, a larger (than the older version) display, easy to work controls to scroll, delete and turn on and off, it's approx. 60 picture internal memory, the durability and attractive look for a toddler; there's only one more thing that you could ask for and that's a bit better picture quality. The pros FAR outweigh the con. To me, it was just a bit pricey, but I think we have gotten what our money paid for! My 3 1/2 year old son LOVES this, and out of everything it has already become his favorite gift, the strap never leaving his wrist! He LOVES seeing his pictures, and taking pictures of everything, including little piggy-toes, the wall, or the dog's tail! LOL.
This is a big hit in our home.... Though where I bought my new version of this item, it was $[...], so shop around for a good price. :)
Customer Review: Sucks up the batteries Summary: 1 Stars
I got this for my daughter's 3rd birthday and it's quite the piece of junk.
The screen is really bad and you can't see the pictures too clearly.
It's a pain to delete pictures as you have to do it one by one, anyone who has kids knows kids will take 100 pictures of their foot over and over...
Battery life is really short... probably lasts 5 minutes on total! less if the kid's clicking away. BTW I use Duracell and Kirkland batteries.
Another sucky feature is the snap-shot button, it's kinda hard to press and it's rubbery so you have to click it just right, so it's really frustrating for a little kid to be "clicking" and not "clicking"
Save your money and just buy a cheap $50 REAL camera and let the kids play with it, they'll have way more fun and you will definetely get better quality pictures.
Customer Review: Unacceptable Picture Quality Summary: 2 Stars
As others have mentioned, the camera is built very well; it is quite durable and able to make it through a lot of drops and spills, but at the end of the day, it is supposed to be a camera, and that is where it simply does NOT hold any weight.
The picture quality is absolutely atrocious. It is not even on par with the cheapest camera phones on the market...I think Fisher Price probably had to go out of their way to find a digital camera that takes this poor of pictures. I would be severely disappointed with the picture quality if this were a [...] camera; for a [...] camera, it's completely unacceptable.
To be fair, my son is three and doesn't seem to care that none of his pictures are recognizable, but I imagine that as he gets a bit older, he may be disappointed when he sees the fruits of his labor.
Customer Review: Great Fun Toy! Summary: 5 Stars
My son asked for this camera to Santa this year but $59.99 ~ $79.99 was kind expensive so held off till I saw $28.99 plus free shipping deal.
My son loves it so much playing/taking pics every day. The only thing I suggest to modify is to move the shutter button to the top of the camera so that little toddler hand can reach it easily and press without having hard time. It's located in front of the camera but the camera is bulky so hard for little hand to reach over. He is almost 5 year old so he can manage to press it but probably hard for toddler kids. But except that, it's a great toy and my son feels he got the same thing that Daddy has of which he values more than anything else right now. It's a definitely a hit toy. After seeing him playing with it, I would pay for $59.99 even, worth it.
Customer Review: Picture taking button is too hard to push for my 3 year old Summary: 1 Stars
I would not recommend. My 3 1/2 year old son can't push the button to take a picture. It's very small, and you really have to push it hard and hold it down in order to take a picture. It's easier for me to take a picture with my real camera. For a kids camera, it's just poorly designed from that perspective. We are returning it, because after 3 days we haven't been able to help him to push the button, and it's the only thing he asked for for Christmas so I want him to have one that he can actually take a picture with. My niece has the FP one that costs $114 on Amazon (and I know it didn't cost that much when she got it last year), and he can take a picture with that, but I'm not spending that much money on a camera for a 3 year old. I'm guessing the re-designed and did a really bad job of it.
