Toys and Games Reviews of Fisher-Price Kid - Tough Digital Camera Blue [Amazon Frustration - Free Packaging]Customer Review: Fisher Price Kid Tough Digi Cam Summary: 4 Stars
We purchased this camera for my 3yo son for xmas this year. He loves to use our digital camera so we thought this would be great for him. He can have a temper at times and throw things so we thought the durability would be perfect. I read in other reviews that the parents were upset the button on the front was a little far and small. It is a very small button and due to the width of the camera it is a little stretched for tiny hands. With a little instruction my son 3yo can click the button with no problems. The camera takes decent photos. The only thing I do not like is the the actual screen on the back is much smaller than a regular digital camera and is a little fuzzy. We hooked the camera up to my sons computer with no problems. My only complaint with it is that the opening to get it to the actual usb port is a big pain in the butt. [...]. It just wasn't "pretty". Which my 3yo son could care less about!
Customer Review: Great fun for kids. Just over look some details Summary: 2 Stars
The eco friendly packaging is a terrific thing. Bravo Amazon
We bought this camera for our 4 year old for xmas. It is her favorite present which might alone make it worth the money. She can very easily make it work and understands the simple controls. It also easily works with our PC running Win XP. It holds a ton of pics sometimes she will have over 100 on it.
The downsides. The image quality is quite bad. You would be hard pressed to get a picture good enough to print. But our daughter does not care. Also unlike a real camera once images are deleted from the camera memory it reuses the image names over again so saving images on the computer can be tricky when they have the same name over again.
I would also suggest that you buy rechargeable batteries for it. When they go on a photo blitz they can use up the batteries quickly.
Customer Review: Ok camera...but buy vtech if you can Summary: 3 Stars
We got this camera for our 3-year old and the vtech for our 6-year old. The fisher price camera has two benefits over the vtech: it can go in water and has simple buttons. Otherwise, the vtech is the way to go. These pictures are lower quality and it has less capability than the vtech, but my biggest gripe is that you can't turn off the flash. The flash tends to white out any picture...even within the flash range. You can work around this by taking your first picture with the flash, and then taking a second picture without before the flash has had time to warm up again...but why should you have to? Although my 3-year old couldn't handle the vtech right now, it is definitely the better of the two cameras. The picture quality is better, you can take movies, edit the pictures, and turn off the flash! There are more buttons, but they are intuitive. Ok camera. Buy the Vtech.
Customer Review: Some good...most bad. Summary: 3 Stars
I got this camera for my 2 1/2 year old for this past Christmas. He was very excited to finally have a camera of his own. He quickly got it and uses it all the time. So it's a plus as far as the kid is concerned.
As a parent...the battery life is HORRIBLE. That camera can go through 4AAA batteries in a half day of use. It does shut off automatically, but he'll go to turn it on later and it's dead. It does save the pictures taken though. The picture button is on the front of the camera, and it took quite a while for him to be able to push it. It's tough to push. It's not where a picture button should be either.
The picture quality is HORRIBLE. You would think with the size (and price) of the camera, it would have better quality. I'm so glad I didn't pay full price for this camera, it would have gone back quickly.
Customer Review: A nice camera you can drop without worry Summary: 5 Stars
Bought for a girls 7th birthday. This was well received and is being well used.
It's nice to be able not to worry and not to have to 'help'her use this the buttons are easy to use..There seem to be two picture quality settings we're trying the higher resolution now (I thought the first setting was a bit grainy but she was quite happy) It's a camera for a child to take pictures with by themselves... it's not a photographers camera for brilliant photo's
It doesn't have an sd card slot (or if it does I haven't found it!)
It downloads easily (the usb access is behind the battery door) a small screwdriver is useful to access batteries or usb port)
I'm not sure of it's memory size yet but we downloaded after nearly 250 snaps so we could look at them.
She is having a blast and collecting some nice memories all by herself.
