Imaginext toys are great. They are durable for young kids, the figures can stand on their own, vibrant colors, not scary looking, and each set is interchangeable with the others.
The Batman Imaginext stuff is the best! My 4 year old got started on this collection right after his third birthday. A year later, and it's still one of the most played-with toys. We have added to the collection and have almost everything. We also have a few other Imaginext sets, and since the guys are the same size...they can all use the elevator, ride in the cars, etc.
Update: I'm writing this shortly after my son's fifth birthday. We've had this set for 2 years. It's still in great shape...and he still plays with it. It's probably the number 1 toy for him. We're continuously adding to the set with the new characters and vehicles. They even now have a Joker's house.

I recently purchased this toy for my grandson who just turned six. This is the FIRST toy he plays with nonstop. He abolutely loves it.
When we saw it in the store, I thought it might be a little "young" for him, but a father was there buying accessories for his six year old, and he told me that even his eleven year old son plays with it all the time. My daughter in law has confirmed this is the first toy ever that has kept his constant interest.
We brought it home from the store, and all of my grandson's neighborhood friends sat together on the porch and played with this toy. They ALL loved it.
Yesterday I went shopping for the remainder of accesories and my grandson is totally excited to get them when he comes to visit next weekend.
ABSOLUTELY WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!!
Customer Review: Perfect Pretend Play, Very Durable Toy

We bought this toy for my 3-year-old daughter--a tomboy. She plays with it everyday, using the characters that came with it, as well as any other small characters she can find. The toy is amazingly well made--which is huge and unusual today.
I also have a 7-year-old. He and his friends also like playing with it. In fact, when an uncle bought this for my daughter at Christmas not knowing we already had it, we decided to keep the duplicate. Having two just makes the cave larger for one child and when there are two kids playing they each have their own.
While it's not a traditional educational toy, I think this is perfect for boys or girls for pretend play. Pretend play is how they figure out their world--what a great education by itself.
I would definitely buy this product for a friend.

My 4 yr old son received this for Christmas and has been playing with it every day since. He and his twin brother has spent countless hours playing with their figurines on or around the batcave and it has inspired much creative play. Provides them with many nooks to create scenes in and has enough features to keep them occupied. Seems quite durable and easily manipulated, and no parts that are easily broken by a rambunctious 4 yr old. The other imaginext superfriends toys that can be used with it are great as well. They have used the batcave with their other dc comics superheroes. I wish FIsher Price made other superhero playsets as well, as my boys LOVE the DC comic superheroes. I would recommend it for any 4-6 year old boy who enjoys superheroes or action figures.Customer Review: The twins loved this toy!

My 3 yr old twin grandchildren told me that they wanted Batman along with the bad guys for their 4th birthday. I was impressed to see the reviews of this toy so I immediately put it my cart. I also bought a bunch of the accessories with the "bad guys". They live several states away and my daughter admitted that her and her husband enjoyed placing all the characters in fight scenes. She says they played for about two hours before going to bed! Their excuse was they wanted every thing in it's place so when the kids came down the next morning it would be ready for play! She said that it was well made and seemed to be sturdy. I thought the age range of 4-8 was great, so hopefully it will be around for a while and keep them interested in adding to their collections!
