Customer Review: Great Fun for Kids Without the High Tech Component

Kids, like everyone else, benefit from physical activity and the Fisher Price Bounce and Spin Zebra is a good toy for encouraging little children to enjoy themselves and get physical at the same time. This toy offers sounds to keep kids entertained, but it also involves physical movements and helps in the development of gross motor skills. The bouncing up and down and swaying back and forth also helps improve strength, making this a well- rounded that benefits children in ways that most toys ignore.
Many toys nowadays have gone the way of high tech and the Fisher Price Bounce and Spin Zebra does offer some sounds. But the sound is a minor component of this toy and it plays only a few variations of the same simple tune. One nice feature is that the sound can be reduced or even turned off if it begins to get on your nerves. There are two levels for the volume and also a setting that shuts it off completely. An interesting thing to note is that, as much as most kids like to hear sounds when they play, the sounds on this toy don't seem to matter very much to my girls. Even when the sounds are turned off completely, they still like bouncing and swaying on the Fisher Price Bounce and Spin Zebra. Actually, the sounds are not that loud and on the lower volume setting, they are more than tolerable. But I like that I can turn the sounds off completely and my girls will still play with the toy. With other electronic toys, once the sound is turned off, they become bored and toss it aside. But the physical aspects of the Fisher Price Bounce and Spin Zebra keep them coming back.
Looking for something to criticize with the Fisher Price Bounce and Spin Zebra, I can think of only a couple of things. First, there is the requirement of three AAA batteries, which can get annoying because most other toys do not use AAA and this can necessitate frequent visits to the store. Second, the base of the Fisher Price Bounce and Spin Zebra is quite large and bulky. The large size makes it more stable, but it also means the toy is less capable of fitting into small spaces. With its larger than average measurements, the Fisher Price Bounce and Spin Zebra is going to require some extra space to set up and use.
Looking at all of the pros and cons, the Fisher Price Bounce and Spin Zebra earns an easy recommendation. It is a fun toy that encourages physical activity and the development of many different skills. The base is large, yes, and it does require frequent replacement of batteries to activate the sounds. But this is still a good toy with sounds that are quieter than other toys and it offers some good, simple fun for children ages three and under.

This toy is relatively low to the ground, so that most children can climb on and off by themselves.
