We've been collecting Geo Trax for 2 years now. Every so often, my 6 year old and I pull the giant box of parts out of the closet and set up a new track configuration. I was so glad to see the Crossing Gate. It's really cute. I love how durable these toys are, too. Two years of play, and not one broken part. Can't say that for any of his other toys.
The crossing gate works great (be sure to search the box for the adapter pieces. I threw the box away, and realized that the roadway parts had a different configuration. Thankfully, I checked the internet and heard that the pieces were hidden. I ran to the trash and recovered them.) The gate makes great noises, looks really fun with the train goes by, and adds more light and motion to an already great fun toy.
Fathers, if you are looking for something fun to do with your son, get Geo Trax. I love designing the layouts, and then racing my son through the hills, tunnels and buildings.
