Customer Review: Don't buy Elmo Live!

Elmo Live is great fun - while he lasts. He does NOT withstand normal toddler play like other toys. He is just not made for it. My 17 month old son had gotten him for Christmas. Within a few weeks he started glitching, stopping in mid sentence or dance. I thought maybe it was the batteries, but it was not. Within a week after that it was to the point that he does nothing at all. My son still picks him up and is disappointed that he won't do anything any more. They ought to redesign Elmo for durability or take it off the market. You would think they tested it! If they did they ignored the results and figured they could make a quick buck on it because Elmo toys are always popular. Very disappointed with Fisher Price and will avoid purchasing their toys in the future.Customer Review: Everybody Loves Elmo

True Confession: My children are grown and I have no grandchildren. I bought Elmo as an experimental mascot to see how 'big people' would react. Without fail, he brings smiles, even to the most jaded of adults encountered in my office of engineering professionals. They can't resist his invitation to "come closer"...and my 25-year old daughter ran to him as if she had just found a long-lost friend, enthralled and giggling in his presence as he invited her to squeeze his nose. Elmo caused my 55-year old boyfriend to laugh non-stop for five minutes upon introduction. Yes, the product is durable, the mechanics operate consistently, and the shipping was expedient, but most remarkably, Elmo is pure magic. Maybe we'll even share him with a kid...eventually...Customer Review: Cool Idea, BUT.....

I love the idea and concept for this toy, but is it worth $60?! No. My daughter received this as an early christmas gift. She loves Elmo so she was very happy to get it, and to play with it. There are some problems with the toy, however. The buttons other than the foot are too hard for my 20 month old to push. Also, she can't play with him on the carpet, otherwise he will fall over. You need to have him on a hard floor or table for him to work right. The "chair" is a joke as elmo does not need it and doesn't even sit on it. It's a waste of plastic. Yes, the gears are loud but it doesn't bother me too much. If this toy was $20 I would have given it 5 stars all the way since my daughter loves it. But for $60+ I would expect higher quality than what it is.Customer Review: Realistically Cute Elmo!

We recieved Elmo Live this Christmas from my son's grandpa. When I looked at him I thought, "Oh, not another tickle me Elmo." This is not at all what it is. I was surprised out how CUTE he really is. Elmo's mouth moves as he talks and he tells jokes, stories, says he loves you, and so much more. He stands and even sits on a little bench seat that comes with him. He even plays games with your little one! This is very interactive and educational. I am very impressed with this toy. My son is also not afraid of it, which I was pleasantly surprised by. He is usually afraid of certain talking or singing toys that move, but not this! My two year old actually sits in front of Elmo and listens to the stories he tells him! Got Elmo live for Christmas. I was so excited when I took it out of its box! After 3 days, I was still playing with it and it works great! If you're a big Elmo fan, this is a must have for all ages. Not kidding! Even 9 years and up too if you still like Elmo. He has four activation points; his nose,belly,left foot, and his back. You can also buy tickle me Elmo and Hokey Pokey Elmo that would go perfect with ELMO LIVE! The only bad thing is that it might be annoying after a while if you're an adult! You can also hear the electronics a lot. But for the rest, he's the best toy you could ever get for your child! He can even ask to be picked up if he falls down. I think this is a great toy, and for the price, this is the best toy ever!
